The IOM and Irish Roadracing is some of the last REAL racing (as in; back before purpose built tracks were available) left in the world. Seeing the IOM is on my bucket list.

BTW, it's not unusual for there to be multiple deaths during a given race week. One of the best ever (David Jeffries) died in a crash at the IOM.

At the pace these guys keep you would be as good as dead. They are not mortals in terms of what a man can do on a motorcycle.

I have a very nice video called One Manns Island, about a guy who quits his job so he can qualify for and race in the IOM.  He came in dead last- hey someone has to be!
But he was a decent rider and he qualified, riding a Yamaha 600 I think.
He would have a video cam showing him tearing ass around the course, and then he would get (repeatedly) passed by the other racers who passed him like he was standing still.

the TT has killed bunches, the suspension on the bikes has to be tuned 'just so'. there is a wide variety of road surfaces on the route, tends to get real, REAL quick. Shocked

usually the locals (of course) dominate the field

Those guys look really good at what they do, but it looks kinda like poor equipment choice for the job at hand. They look like it'd be better on supermotard bikes.
