yet another carb question
«
on:

Hi, I'm still cleaning my carbs and I think they are about ready, however, I see 3 tiny holes just below the throttle plate that I cant account for.... does anyone know what these go to, and the best way to blast air through them?
Thanks

Usually on a can of carb cleaner or WD40 there is a red extension , use that and your breath or cleaner to check if they are clear. Also you can blast air or cleaner from some of the internal passages that will flow thru those holes.

The three holes (orifice) you see are part of the idle circuit. Gasoline flows through these and is controlled by the idle jet.
There is also another orifice further on in the venturi area that is also connected to the gasoline supply stream and all are metered with the idle jet.
The forward hole is the orifice that you can adjust with the idle metering screw that is discussed to great extent in the forum. (Two and a half turns from lightly seated) ought to come to mind.
