Welcome to the insanity!  Bought my '99 Standard Spring of '10 for $5000 so the price seems good. The only difference is the carb springs and ignition tune in the ECM from the interstate. LOTS of good info here. Just ask....

Welcome to the board. Good price, great bike. No differences in the engines on all models. If it runs great, ride it and enjoy. If you want to work on it frequently, start tinkering with it and you will be doing just that. These Valkyries are long winded and need no modifications. Ride Safely. I'll also add, do your maintenance regularly, especially the rear end.

If you are riding  and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

Leave now or be forever changed.

You were warned.

Looks like you found a pretty good deal.

If it is what you wanted.

If not, you could make a little money on that one.

This thread is pretty boring without a pic.

I bought this little number with 48K on the clock.

It now has 59k.

6900$ and rode it home, hitting 115 at one point.

It had good tires and recently had all fluids changed out at the Honda Shop.

Synthetic Honda Oil in the motor.

Welcome Big G!
Hmmm, let's see: "first ride last night in the rain." That narrows your 20 somewhat. Not Texas. Or the NorthEast (snowed). Sounds like a great deal on the bike. You'll love it!  cooldude

:cooldude:O k put about 40 miles on it the best way to describe it is it's like riding a SILK ROCKET smooth as silk and very fast and quiet. I just got rid of a 2000 Venture and I miss all the toys and the ride over bumpy roads was better but it was the noisiest bike I ever owned thry have a high pitch clutch noise that will drive you  :DCRAZY Cheesy I've always had Dunlops and never again These avons STICK to the road

I hear ya... I sold a 2008 Venture to get my 99 Interstate. The clutch whine was bad. In fact whining continued, from somewhere behind me, for a week or two, (Now she'd kill me if I ever traded the IS away for ANYthing.) I have Dunlops, but, based on numerous comments like yours on this board. totally going for Avons next.
