« on: October 31, 2011, 08:08:29 AM »

Yesterday after church wife had some errands for me to run so the valk and I were in Humble. After a short stop at walmart for some hunting lis. I crossed 1960 hit the bank atm for more cash and was headed to the mall. This is where it gets scary. I was headed east in the center lane as I started to the left to get in the lane to turn in the mall all of the sudden a chevy pickup was also headed to that lane from the center turn lane. I know I checked my mirrors before I started, only thing I can figure is he came out of a parking lot just after I looked. Anyway as he hit his horn, and I'm damn glad he did,  his front bumper was even with my knee on that side. he went left and I went right and thank God we didn't touch except for where I put my hand on his hood and pushed off . Scared to crap out of me.
I know I dodge a bullet and I'll keep mine mind on riding and not on what I'm fixing to do or where I've got to be.

Gald you are OK and your helper angel was with you!!!

That's why I wil NOT ride in Houston (area) unless my life depended on it, then it really would!!! I hate driving my truck up there enough that I don't go unless I really have to. Luckily mom is there in Huffman too, so I can go around the metromess.

Usually when you reach out to an object like that hood the bike will go that direction.....however, that would have probably been my knee jerk reaction too.   You were lucky.......glad you managed to keep the bike under control.....ride safe.

Glad you're OK. I don't like those center turn lanes, especially in an area like that where there is always a lot of traffic. Some people will drive in those lanes before it is time for them to turn. May have happened to you, some will cut out from behind you also, even with your signals on.
Ride Safely.

Glad you were unhurt other than your shorts. Your angel did his job.

Remember to ride like everyone is trying to kill you.

I think your angel was with you long before Sunday (just re-read your post from the 28th "...be careful...they got another one".  Glad that you only have a story to tell rather than being the story.  I'm also glad the angels planted caution to us all last week.  I look forward to seeing you again soon...safe and sound!
