Get a really, really, really fat guy to sit on it and beat it into submission.

Well thats almost me 6'1" 215 lbs. It's not working... it did work with a factory honda solo seat but the base plate of a Corbin is firm and will not flex enough to latch. Looks like the Corbin will hafta go under the knife and trim about 5/8 of an inch off the front of the seat. I hate the thought of doing that to a $460.00 seat....

Sell it and buy one that fits??? Like an Ultimate that's way more comfy than a Corbin.

Walk it around to a few local upholstery shops. I had some Latino fellows completely rebuild a Hog solo seat in CA 25 years ago, and it was better than new (nice pillow pleat). In NoVA it's the Koreans. I mean no disrespect to anyone, it's what it is. You will have to tell them how much to cut. I had a Corbin and the base plate was petty hard fiberglass, they may have trouble with that if it has to be cut.
Mike Corbin will do it for the price of a new seat, maybe.

That's a matter of opinion. Corbin saddles are way comfortable for me. Different folks, different body types. Also, the Corbin doesn't completely f#&k up the look of the bike.

Thank You.... your answer is most helpfull. Let me ask when you trimmed the pan back you did not trim the leather just folded it back under? My seat has rivets I was thinking of putting the leather back where they had it and let it lay on the tank to cover any void between the seat and tank. Thanks Dave P.S. I see I live about 40 min down I 75 from you we should do coffee sometime

What about placing a couple of washers/spacer under the U-bar on the Corbin? Wouldn't this extend/raise it enough to allow it to latch.

It is worth a try... how much did you shim yours? If that does work the locating pads on the seat will need a shim as well. The flip side of that idea is if it works I will not hafta cut the seat............ Thanks for the tip Dave

That is correct, I did not cut the leather. There should be no void though unless you trim too much pan off, I just kind of snuck up on it cutting a little at a time.
I tried the spacer between the latch bar and the seat but it did not sit properly, kind of rocked and of course it sat high and unlevel and I was going for the low look. I do use the spacer on the Corbin Stinger seat I have because I was not sure I wanted to keep that seat and did not want to cut it. The spacer I made was about 5/8 inch thick.

Thanks Jess, but she isn't a regular passenger. They were doing a charity bike wash so for $10 I asked the young thing for a picture, what a sweetie.
Stude, we will have to do that coffee if we get another nice weekend day, maybe about Flint.

Nice job Rick... I wish I had more free time to do more projects. Between work and HONEY-Do list I don't know what day it is most of the time.
