I have ended up with both a Hoppe fairing and a Cobra lightbar... I expected them to work
together, I believed that Cobras and Rivcos were the two lightbars that were compatible
with a Hoppe fariing. I had a Rivco lightbar, and it worked well with the Hoppe.

Bobby (Gear Jammer) has a Hoppe and Cobras, his lights touch his faring. Mine really touched,
when I tried the install. Not only is it necessary to remove the lights from the bar to get the
fairing on, but my 4 1/2 spotlights couldn't even be turned all the way forward they
were so cramped. I guess Bobby's are a tiny bit smaller or lower or different somehow,
that's why he can get his to point straight ahead, but still the lights touch the fairing, even on
his bike.

I found some ShowChrome 3 1/2 spots and ordered them from HDL, they stayed on backorder
for over a month. In the meantime, I was looking around for other options, and saw that
ShowChrome also had some LED 3 1/2 inch spots, so I changed my order to them. Over a month
later, they have arrived. They seem really cool, and I'm a fan of LED, but they connect to
the lightbar differently than I expected.

Here's the kind of connection I have and was expecting...

Here's the kind of connection the LED set has...

I can imagine that I could make it work, but it seems like it would look jury-rigged... especially
with those wires (I'd put them in a shrink loom) flying out the back like that...

I wish I knew how/where to get a good 3 1/2 inch "normal-looking" set of spotlights...

Mike I have tried different bulbs in my cobra (standard) spots.....didnt like any of them.  These babies built for Cobra use the H-3 bulb and I love the light on the road they provide.  As much as my headlight gives.

And they look great.  JMHOOC.   cooldude

Jeff, I like the way your lights look too, with the visor...

The bulbs I'm using now are Rivco halogens, I know they light up the inside of the tunnels on the BRP  Wink

But your lights are 4 1/2 inch, right?

The glass is right at 3.5" dia.  The metal case is a tad larger, like 4.25 or so

Good old HDL... I just called, explained what was going on (even showed Chris this thread),
and he gave me a return authorization number... they can get the Cobra lights that Jeff has,
(p/n BLV4-9002), and as soon as the lights I have get back to them, the Cobra lights will
be on their way...  cooldude ... hopefully the Hoppe fairing will be back on soon...

Hey Mike, keep me posted on the outcome if you please  Wink  I'm still pondering what could be any difference between yours and mine.  Undecided    Got mine back on after the chrome job, and they fit exactly the same way as before....   crazy2

On August 17, I ordered some BBP 3 1/2 inch lights... they stayed on back order a long
time, and in the meantime I discovered that BBP also had some LED 3 1/2 inch lights,
so I changed my order... they took a long time to show up, and when they got here, they
seemed real nice, but the way they connected to the bike was not what I expected... about
to give up, I started this thread, and Jeff told me about Cobra BLV4-9002 which are the size
I'm looking for (their ads don't say so, I had to get Jeff to measure his set)... so I got a
return number for the LEDs, and the Cobras  showed up yesterday... I only think they'll work,
I should get the chance to see within a week or so... they look real good, and connect
in the "normal" way... I didn't know it was going to take 5 months to buy lights, though...  uglystupid2

RELAX: they don't make those Cobra light bars anymore, you'd have to get them from eBay or Big Mike or
find a dusty set in an old Honda shop somewhere to get them...
