Friend of mine is mounting one on his Valk and if it's bolted down as it's meant to be, the headlight points at the front fender. What has been used by others to mount the VTX 1800 headlight to the Valk? I have a couple ideas for an adapter but if someone has a simple approach, he'd like to hear it.

I put a Trike Shop Radio Caddy (batwing fairing) on my Valk and you had to use a VTX headlight and the mounting kit (1300 VTX kit) came with a VTX headlight mount. The VTX and Valk triple trees are very close and the holes line up. Try the Trike Shop .

The 1300 headlight is the same as at least the '02 1800 C model, and AFAIK all the headlight extensions are the same for all VTX models, so I don't think it should matter.

I just checked and the headlight bucket is the same p/n for both the VTX 1800 & 1300, but for the mount(stay) p/n is different...the piece that bolts to the tree.

The mounting bracket is diff than a valk but the bolt holes are the same as is the angle of the light.I did not change anything except the mount which is the stock 1800 vtx

Not all headlight buckets are the same across the different 1800 models. The mounting bracket may be different between the 13 and the 18 that share the same bucket, but I think the holes in the trees have the same spacing. I can't see how either bracket would leave the bucket pointing at the fender.

I just installed these headlight extenders on both my 2000 Valk Standard and on my 2002 VTX 1800R. Cheesy
I bought a 2" extender for the Valk and a 3" extender for the VTX... Both "extenders" are identical in design and do fit both ladies
right out of the box... cooldude

Their quality and feel is tops! Installation is 10 minutes flat... err... 15 minutes with a Beer in one hand.  2funny

I made a spacer because it was a big gap between the headlight and windshield.
Bracket that came with with VTX headlight I installed did fit without any other modifications.

Forgot to add I also changeg the windshield to a vtx shield because of the size of the light is diff. vtx light is smaller in dia. an stock valk.shield had a big gap that let in a lot of wind.about $1000 total for both.Not cheap.

Art;
I usually ride w/o a shield, unless I am going on a long trip.

My newly acquired VTX came with the OEM-accessory windshield. I went around pricing them and ouch! you are right;
they sell for 'round $500 +. Shocked

I thought it might fit the Valkyrie, as everything, but the headlight is different. I suppose tomorrow I will find out whether it fits
over the Valk's larger Headlight...

At any rate, I plan to buy an extra installation kit for the Memphis Shade Batwing that I use on the Valk. The kit would go on the VTX
thus allowing my sporadic use of the same Batwing on both ladies. Wink

If the Batwing works out for both machines, I might then sell / trade the VTX shield. Roll Eyes

Hi . The vtx shield will not fit over the valk headlight due to the diff. in the dia. of the valk light .I liked the vtx shield because it looked like a better quality frame.I had a good paying job at the time I bought them but now I would think twice about that.
