A few years ago I put works performance shocks on my Tourer. This was mostly to try and get a smoother ride as my wife always complains of the sharp bumps jarring her back. They did not seem to make it any better.  Would I have been better to go to Air shocks for a smoother ride. If so what kind are good.

How 'bout padding the seat(s). Mine were done by the P.O. and there is a huge difference in comfort. Lips Sealed

Did you have the ARS system on the Works shocks? That made a huge difference when I had them on my interstate. I now have a 97 std with 440's which seem to be pretty smooth and can be adjusted for 2up fairly easily.  The advantage of the ars system was the adjustment from 1up to 2up was very quick and did not require any tools.  I am finding I need a strap wrench to adjust the 440's.

I find the 416 Air shocks great and so does SWMBO, she much prefers the ride with them than conventional shocks, I know others on here don't like them. Maybe an idea to find someone local with them and try before you buy?
