We decided to meet up with Hotglue and Flamingobabe one last time before winter, we figure we’d meet about half way between Texas and Virginia and we picked Cullman, Ala.  This is the home of VRCC members Winghot and  Frog…..Hotglue and Flamingobabe had never met them and this is a great town to be in for riding and sight seeing….while we were there Maverick Valk  came over from Birmingham to say hello, always good to see Leon and SlowRoad who lives nearby also stopped by to say howdy..

Winghot owns the Downtown Grill, a great little restaurant located downtown Cullman, he has a standing offer to all Valk riders when you stop in for lunch the meal is on him, the food is outstanding, the restaurant is unique and the staff is outstanding…so if you’re ever in the area be sure to stop in and say howdy, you certainly will not be disappointed…Here’s what I learned while I was there…..

I  learned that Winghot hasn’t owned a street bike now for 3 years, that all ended the day we arrived, when he became the proud owner of an ’03 ST 1300 with only 4900 miles on it…great looking bike, looks brand new and runs like a scalded dog!!!

I learned that even with a 3 year lay off Wayne is still one of best riders in the VRCC…

I learned that there are about 70,000 people in Cullman and Wayne knows all but 6 them and his brother Frog knows them…everyplace we went Wayne and Frog knew everyone we passed, by name no less and held a conservation with most of them…..

That good looking woman with Frog is his daughter, we all had supper a the local Chinese place.. cooldude

I learned that Cullman is still recovering from the tornado's from last spring....

I learned that Winghot is a brand new grandpa, for the first time...congradulations to all...

I learned that when you ride over to the Abby and dress up as a monk, you can get in thru these doors...

We have been here before but never was able to see the other side, what a treat...

I learned the Downtown Grill now serves beer and plenty of it... cooldude

I learned even the bathrooms at the abby are outstanding works of art.... Smiley

I learned that Slowroad now has a second bike he plays with.....

I learned that Hotglue can not move when he is inside his new riding suit, talk about riding with armour..... Grin

I learned that Barber's Museum is still a great place to spend sometime.....put it  on your bucket list...

I learned it gets know better than to be able to hang out with friends from all over the country and enjoy spending time with them and we're looking forward to the next time.... cooldude

I learned alot more but I'm running out of energy, thanks for looking.... cooldude

ATGATT !!!! LOL
I learned that a single wrap of foam packing will keep a bottle of whiskey from breaking when it is dropped to the curb...
I learned that November is a GREAT time to see fall color in Northern Alabama
I learned that Winghot's hottest wing sause burns twice!!!!!!
I learned that I spend too much time looking at the beautiful countryside to be a good twisties rider..
I learned I need at least 2 days to go through the Barber MC museum.....

I'm still trying to figure out the bright light that shown on me while we were in the abbey........reference HB's last picture...LOL.

We had a GREAT time!!!!! with GREAT friends!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh.... also learned that we will NEVER eat at another Taco Bell......  can you say 'food poisioning'..?????   I knew you could.....it was a LONG 400 miles home today....

Thanks HB!!!! always enjoy your 'What I learned"!!!! cooldude

Good ride report Don.

I sure do wish I could get out now, but maybe next spring.

By the way Don, I put power steering on the Chevy Trike.

I got a 7* tree from Daryl, X6 Store.

I don't know who his supplier is, but it is superb work in my book.

Son rode it after we got done and he said it was easy to turn with just a couple of fingers, or even with just one hand.

Have a happy 11-11-11.

What I learned from Don and Tracy's trip to Cullman is that they apparently don't have my phone number!   tickedoff  I'm only about 45 minutes from Cullman and could have used some of Winghot's good food, some good riding and some good times with good friends...but it's ok...I'll get over it... Hey thanks for the info on the Downtown Grill. Sugar's only Brother lives in Cullman so we'll be sure to check it out. Just glad to hear it's still there, the tornado through there pretty much wiped out downtown from what her brother told us.
Great ride report & pic's, thanks again.

I love ole Hot WIngs place.

But Hot Sauce and me have a history and it is not a good one.

But there are good people in Cullman and lots of other items to enjoy at the Restaurant.

He has fed a bunch of us for free and you can't beat that.

Thanks
