First off I'd like to thank Mac ( Crazyhorse ) for getting this ride together doing the leg work on finding a motel and leading the group ride saturday.Picture below is Mac and his ridin' bud and neighbor Tom.We had riders from Alabama, Mississippi, Maryland, Georgia,Indiana,Illnois, North Carolina, South Carolina,Kentucky and The Great State Of Tennessee...Special thanks to those that put the miles down to join us On the ride down friday we stopped by the treehouse in Crossville,TN . Eric ( Little Buddy ) and his brother Herb ( TODD ) had never seen it. When we rolled into the motel friday evening a guest had a gasket blow I was hoping we'd never see another one of these over the weekend and we did'nt First stop was Fort Donelson I did'nt take many pictures. This is a cool place to vist and what many think was the turning point of the Civil War. Check the link if interested in learning more about Fort Donelson. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Fort_Donelson Next stop .....The remains of this limestone slab furnace are all that is left of The Great Western Iron Works. Great Western opened in 1855 and in a 34-week period produced 1,350 tons of iron. The production of 4-4-5 tons of iron required twenty bushels of charcoal, 800 pounds of ore, and 80 pounds of limestone. The furnace is a symbol of Stewart County's industrial heritage. Before the Civil War, Stewart County was recognized as one of the few industrial areas in the rural south. Stewart County residents built communities around these furnaces, with most of the residents depending on the furnaces for income. The last iron furnace in Stewart County ended operation in 1927. As for the Great Western Furnace, it's production ended only a year after it started. In 1856 its owners put it up for sale. " The Money Shot " Taken at the Great Western Furnace near Land Between The Lakes.

Oh My, you have no idea how badly I wanted to go on this ride. So close and yet so far. Having to work for a living sucks. Anyone got a winning lottery ticket number so I can ride the wind with these folks? Maybe next time.

Good report, Joe...thanks for posting. A good time was had by all. Good to see old friends again and make new ones. I would also like to thank Mac for all his work and for leading us on a nice ride Saturday. Here's my "highbinder" list of things I learned on this trip (feel free to add to it!): 1. If your &ss isn't on the seat when the ride leaders are ready to go...you better know where the hell they're going so you can find them down the road! 2. When you do find the group down the road, they're glad THEY found YOU! 3. If you see Winghot lift the visor on his hemet and ride over to the far right side of the lane, you better head over to the far left of the lane! 4. Mac is willing to pay $100 to see some weird chyt! 5. Eric (Little Buddy) is a sensitive guy...no, he's a friggin' sensitive GIANT! 6. Wimp has some super-secret exercise for his bladder or he has steroided it up.... 7. Reb can cut it off in midstream when a van pulls up beside him. 8. Joe has an aversion to untying knots. 9. A bottle of dropped beer busting on the concrete is funny as hell after you've had a few...and as long as it's not YOUR beer.... 10. Listening to Eric (Little Buddy) diss a complete stranger on Skype on a computer in a motel parking lot for being a fair weather HD rider is priceless!

so.... who dropped their beer? sounds like alcohol abuse to me....LOL Well, I'm not one to rat another rider out (HAL), but he has a mustache (HAL) and likes to keep an unopened bottle of beer in the same hand as his opened bottle of beer (HAL).... Dave

Dave I can't see anything weird about that, seeing that I knew that Wimp was lying about his super- abilities:cooldude:.
Thanks to everyone who made the ride.

If you live there already, well. I'm sure there were lots more than wanted to come that couldn't. That's why we need to do more rides.

Dog Gone It! It's such a shame I was born with good looks instead of rich. Rich would have meant I was on every ride.

Looks like y'all had a large time Joe. I had committed to riding to Pensacola, FL to see the Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show Saturday. It was a great weekend for riding in the south. Good report, good pics. It's a shame Little Eric is sooooooooo sensitive !!!! Hope to see y'all soon down the road.
