Got a note from an old HS buddy now living in California, telling me about an incident re. an att'y. and refusal to pay. I don't know where this took place but got a good chuckle out of it. Seems a young fella was going through a neighborhood with a headlight polishing kit, offering to polish the cloudy surface of your headlights for a small fee. We all know about how some lights get real cloudy, and he was asking $5 for the first vehicle, and an extra $3 for each additional vehicle. All he was trying to do was make a few bucks to help out his family, times are tough and he was being inventive to pull in some extra cash. He approached this one house and made his offer, the guy gave him the OK and asked for his Escalade to be done also for the extra $3. After he was done, the young man went to the door for his payment and I guess the guy decided he didn't want to pay, gave him less than the first $5 and shut the door. The young man rang the doorbell again, asked for the rest of his due and the homeowner refused, said it wasn't worth what he asked. When the young guy protested the owner said he was an att'y. and he could sue him for the extra bucks he was owed. So the young man simply said OK, you win....turned and walked away. As he walked past the two cars, he reached in his canvas bag used to carry his supplies and buffer, pulled out a body man's hammer which is flat on one end and rather pointed on the other. One good stroke of the hammer in each of the four headlights is all it took, with the att'y. screaming at him from the front door. The young man supposedly told him "I'm adjusting your headlights and your attitude, sue me."  I admire that young guy's ingenuity....adjusting headlights with a hammer. Who woulda thunk?   2funny

Imagine what replacing all those headlights cost that jerk just because he didn't want to pay the $8 he owed. The young guy that did the polishing hasn't been seen since.
