Looking for input specific to the Big Bike Things Interstate model of forward controls.  I've not heard back from them yet.
1. Is the shift direction normal or reversed?
2. Can it be used without the heel shifter, i.e. is the clearance around the toe shifter adequate to use it alone?
Any other comments specific to this model would be appreciated particularly concerning function, cornering clearance etc.  I'm developing some considerable left hip pain, such that I'm concerned that I may not be able to keep riding the Valk.  I need an alternate leg position and this looks like the only option other than an electric shifter.
EDIT:  My Valk lives in Oakland, CA.  Anyone in the Bay area, Sac or Reno have a set installed?

Not sure about all your questions, but when I was researching the FCs for my Standard, I seem to remember that the shift pattern for the I/S was reversed.

Hi  i bought this kit and installed it on my interstate trike and love it --it moved my legs up 6-7 inches --it does reverse the shifting pattern   not a big thing  you will not have a problem draggin these there up next to the bottom of the valve covers

Thanks everyone.  Bad on 3, what's your take on the heel shift; is it needed or not?  Is there enough clearance around the toe shifter to use it alone?

I've never used anything like this, and don't know about clearance, but if you have to down shift in a panic situation do you really want to try to get your toe under the peg while braking heavily?
Thinking safety,

I have the other kind (the not-Interstate kind)... I love having access to the shifter and the
brake when my feet are on the hi-way pegs, but If I get in an emergency situation, I'll
be hoping my feet are on the get-R-done pegs...  Wink

I'm guessing the Interstate kind is only reversed when you're using the forward controls?
