Two incidents today with my Valk 1. I was in Walgreens and this woman comes up to me and asks "Is that your Valkyrie parked outside?" I told her that yes indeed that's mine and she said, "That's a beautiful bike." I thanked her and she started to walk away , stopped, and said kiddingly, "I drooled all over it!" We both had a good laugh and went on our way. 2. I was gassing her up a little later and a guy walks over and asks what type of motorcycle is this? To which I replied it's a Honda. He then asked if it was a six cylinder, and the size. When I told him he said I used to race sports cars with smaller engines then that. He then complimented me on what a good looking bike it is. Nice to know that after all these years, the fat girl still gets the compliments

I was riding Saturday and stopped for gas. A couple of guys came over and commented on what a good looking machine I had. They then asked me how much it cost to convert it to get a car engine in it? I told them it came from the factory with the six cyclinder already in it. Then I showed them the nickel trick and they were totally amazed.

About a month ago I sufferred a hip injury so no riding (gave me time to install batwing) finally I could not take it so I went for a short ride, two blocks down the road at a light an older gent rolled down his window and asked is that a six cylinder? (awe struck).another few blocks and soccer mom with 3 kids in car rolls down her window and said ("Valkyrie" I saw the movie what is it) I said it'sa Honda. She said (well its absolutely gorgeous). It was just what I needed. Thanks.

Yep,happens all over the world. When I was in France this year I stopped in a small petrol station in a French village, went in and paid, came out and there was this french bloke leaning on the petrol pump, when we made eye contact he through both arms out towards the Valk and said "aaaaaaaaaaaaaw la moto est magnifique" I replied merci, turned to the wife and said "Get ya helmet on quick",the guy was smoking a cigarette 4 feet from a woman who was pumping fuel into her car. With a twist of the throttle we were outa there.

it happens a lot! go to the hardware store, come out, and just slowly walk to the cycle, it's amazing how many people just gauk at her!
when i was a single guy i dated a girl that was a model, she was a good looking woman, she also liked to shop at Fredricks of Hollywood!! my treat!! i never minded going out with her 'cause she was gorguous, and she was riding me!! now i'm fat, gray, bolding, and old, but i still ride a beautiful woman!!!
stopped at a red light one day, a guy pulls up to my right, with his window down i can hear him talking to his buddy, he say's; "yeah, i think that's a six cylinder", then some lady in the back seat say's "what a beautiful bike".
you never get over hearing those stories!! keep em coming!!

My experience was a "little" different. I was at a rally and a couple of HD riders (their bikes were next to mine) and I heard the comment about liking the color and chrome (Jade & Cream Tourer) then the other one said "I like the way it looks like it was all designed to go together".

We gots to keep(gonna bust some bubbles here)in mind it be our rides-NOT US. I'm as guilty as everyone else-i do like the compliments. I have had a small crowd around it coming out of wally world a resturant and the local M/C shops i frequent down here. On my trip to Illinois this past summer there was no such thing as a quick gas and go. People were very curious about the Valkyrie. And being as i ain't real shy i took the time to answer questions and do the nickel trick. The nickel trick will take a loud mouth of another brand and put a damper on him. If he or she starts soon enough i ask them to supply the nickel. Keeps them from crying FOUL if you have them supply the nickel. Figured out right after i bought it would be an attention getter. After i gassed her up after buying the Valkyrie-took me about 20 minutes to get out of the gas station. And at that time i did not know that much about our dragons. RIDE SAFE.

Yup, the nickel trick just ends the conversation. Wether it be degrading or complementary. 0 0 My wife found an original Valkyrie shirt at the thrift store last week. O!!! Christmas came early.

I don't know if you were refering to me, but the HD guys I mentioned are nice decent people without the cult mentality. Now there have been some with the snobbish attitude that I caught them looking and they would turn their heads quick and try to play it off!

Old2soon, I took your advice and now I use their nickel so they know it's not a trick and it blows their mind! Lol! Most of the crowd I ride with all have Harleys except a V Star 1300 , VTX 1300, a Shadow and me. What is funny is where ever we stop, guess whose bike these strangers come up to surrounded in a sea of H arleys??

I like all the thumb's up from cage's when they pass me on the freeway!!!! But normally it is the opposite I pass them!!!! Then they scratch there head and try to figure out what that sound was. I just put on the 205/55/16 in July sounds like I'm going 120 mph. RPM's are up almost 400 more. 2 brothers exhaust 5" canister's.

I came out of The Handlebar in Longwood FL once and old gray beard harley type was standing there, absolutely studying the Fat Lady. I approached slow to give him time, because I knew what would happen once I said something. I eventually said, "Yep, has 6 cylinders and 6 carbs". He acted like I just threw hot water on him, and without a word he turned on his heels and got outta there. No, he couldn't actually have someone see him admire a Honda, of all things!!

MP, NITRO and I went around Lake Superiour two summers ago. we stopped at a small diner were two harleys were parked out front, these two guys were also doing the circle tour of the lake so we had seen them several times that day. when we sat down for lunch i said hello to the both of um, and made the coment that we finally caught up to 'em! neither one made a grunt, or not even a smile, (they might not have spoke english i thought), but when they left they both took a good long look at the three fat girls in the parking lot!! i think a lot of harley guys have a good amount of respect for the Valk, mainly 'cause it doesn't look like anything else out there!

Big T Hogg and others. I truly do get a kick out of other than(trying very hard to stay correct in my older years) Valkyrie riders trying to get the sneak look at these big azz machines we ride. Cracks me up a LOT when they don't want to take the time to talk to me. But it runs heavier to the ones that do want to know about them. I get a kick out of it when i tell them how much it weighs-without fluids in it. And then i bring out the book and show them the weights and length and the width. So mine's 12 years old coming up to 13 years old and some folks are still having problems with the dimensions of these scooters. Didn't weigh it out this summer but i figured with luggage and tools and cold drinks i was close to 1200 1300 pounds gross. And as we all are aware-no trouble maintaining ANY speed i wanted. More than once on I-55 in Illinois i looked down and the speedometer was really close and sometimes over triple digits. Didn't mean to rattle on but i DUZ like mt phatt ghurl. RIDE SAFE.

Absolutly love when you get a thumbs up from someone I am passing.
Last week I came out of the store and a young man in a minivan had waited for me to come out. He told me his kids wanted to hear the bike start up. Two angels sitting in the back. Well, there were lots of people around and I just didn't want to rev it up at start up, but I gave them plenty to hear as I left the lot.
I bet I was at 1400 gross when I rode the bike out to Charlotte this summer. I know I had over 40 (each) in the saddlebags, me(230), dufflebag was around 120-140, then 3 more bags of equipment and more clothes. Like others, triple digits down the road was easy to obtain and keep.

Work at a warehouse for a Midwestern grocery chain.
We get over the road truckers of course and some have their pets, mainly dogs, ride along.
While waiting to be unloaded, some will take to walking their dog out in the parking lot.
So a couple of months ago, we head out for the afternoon break, (though I quit smoking 2+ years ago I still sit outside with the smokers when it’s nice out)
Anyway, one of the OTR truckers was walking his dog out in the lot and stops at my Valk. I have my back to the lot and one of the guys says "Hey, there's a guy out by your bike" So now we are watching this guy as he walks around the bike, twice, then stops when he sees the CT on the back. He then lays down on the cement and looks under the bike. I think that is when he sees the car horns too. Walks around it again, Looks really close at the motor. Sticks his nose right in there. This went on for 10 min. The guys on break with me couldn’t believe the guy. (Though I do recall when I first started working out there there were quite a few of them checking the Valk out too. Now they just see it everyday) I told them this actually happens quite a bit. Bike is a show stopper. Just a stock 99 tourer. And it's mine!
