I've seen a few pics of I/S's with the tour pack removed.   Was that an option or is it a custom job?

Big BF (Bill Furgeson) of the BIG BF Quad Horns, and all sorts of other cool things, has a picture by picture tutorial on his web site on how to do the I/S Trunk 'Quick Disconnect' mod...

http://bigbf.com/bigbf_shop/mod_i-s_trunk/

I did this when I scored an I/S Trunk for my '97 Standard...

With Trunk

Without Trunk (in 10 minutes  cooldude )

I take mine off all the time... it is a semi custom job and there is a guide somewhere here on the site on how to do it...... I did mine a little different, but i can have it off in 5 minutes.... and hang it right on the garage wall... just so you know... they are not light- 45 pounds or so.  You will have to get a taillight assembly and do some rewiring, but it is also mice to have the additional lighting even when the trunk is on. Also if you use multiple wire plugs for the connections it makes it even easier- I have a plug for the speakers, lights and antenna...... 4 nuts, 3 plugs and your good to go.... I even keep a spare wrench in the trunk just to take it on and off.

You can still use your I/S seat, but I picked up the drivers section of a Standard for $40 on Ebay and use that all the time....

Great winter project.

Rather than slot the trunk brackets, I had the fender struts modified. The factory studs were cut off and the struts were tapped to accept 8mm bolts (chrome cap screws).
