I think we should ban all products from companies that have moved their labor out of the U.S.

A country-ours in this case-the good old U S of A-that loses it's manufacturing base has NOTHING. uglystupid2 If you/we are dependent on another country to make the stuff we use and need on a daily basis and they DO NOT LIKE US well ain't that happening as we speak?? crazy2 China has already poisoned our children and our pets. Evil We need as a people to pull ourselves up by our own boot straps. cooldude Now if we could get rid of our dependence on foreign oil!! Roll Eyes RIDE SAFE.

Seriously though, good piece.

My job sends products to china. We build machines that reclaim lead to make batteries. Even though we make the machines and control panels the chinese are still making 70 % of the batteries in the world. Kind of a stab in the back.

What was it Ross Perot said about NAFTA and all of our manufacturing jobs again?  Oh yeah......something about a "giant sucking sound" with all of those jobs going to other countries.

And where have all of our manufacturing jobs gone again?  Oh yeah.......not here.

Though I agree that we need more manufacturing jobs in the US, and I also hate the fact that companies are moving operations overseas, there is an issue that no one talks about.
If a company is global, and most of it's sales are not made in the US, why not move the company where the sales are?

Several years ago I worked at setting up and stocking a new Lowes Store in my town. For two days in stocking I was in the Hardware Dept. filling bends with nuts, screws, lags, nails, ect. At that time the Dept. had 64,000 numbered items. Not a one was made in the USA.  tickedoff It is a HARD job to find and purchase anything that is  made in America. Read the tags on all that you buy for a eye opener.  Sad
