Hello, just saying hi to everyone here. I have been lurking for a while and decided I would join the forum. I am an old fart, been riding my whole life. Started in 1966 with a rebuilt Triumph, went on from there over the years. Last two bikes were Harleys, latest was an Ultra Classic which I enjoyed, Smiley except for the high center of gravity.   I have been looking at Valkyrie's this past year. I sold out three  years ago and am itching again, so looking hard right now.  Found an interesting 98 with only 3,600 miles on it.  Been sitting around a long time. Sounds like carb rebuilding time on that one, but heck, that's what winters are for, right?
I enjoy the articles and tremendous amount of knowledge on this board.  If I bite the bullet soon, I am sure I will be bugging everyone for advice and answers.   Thanks for a great forum and keep up the good work.

Welcome to the mad house...we won't hold the Harley's against ya...don't think there will be an "if I bite the bullet" but a "when" is most likely in your future..

Welcome to the insanity!  Says you are from Tennessee.  That is one great state for riding and there are a lot of VRCC folks there.  Wish I could ride there more, but stuck here in the flatlands of Texas.

When you pull the trigger, yes, post pictures!

Welcome Jimmy... The low center of gravity on these make them easy to handle for their size.  I'm only 5'8" and 175lbs on a good day.  No problems with handling.  We'll be waiting for the pics... cooldude

I've said this before and what the hay-i'll repeat myself. 2funny Trying to figure out where 1000+ pounds go when i ease out the clutch! coolsmiley Hope they let you test ride afore ya buy it. Wink It's kinda deceiving in a way-if i don't have the side stand on a 2x4 it comes up a little difficult. Smiley Coming off the side stand you are aware of the weight. coolsmiley At a light or starting out-not so much. Cool Once you get one and start riding her-yer hooked-no way around that. cooldude If you would be so kind as to let us know what and when ya got it please. Cheesy RIDE SAFE.

Hey guys, thanks for the welcome again.  I'm in middle Tn. West of Nashville 65 miles, on the river and I-40.  If I ever get my computer working correctly again, I will do the pictures when I find one.  My brother in New Mexico bought a 95 Wing last year and has bugged me to get another bike. We want to do a tour through Dakotas and West on them. I've toured alot, but not through Dakota and west part of that area. Tennessee is a great state to ride in. We got back roads and hills, valleys, flats, mountains, etc. We used to do 200-300 mile trips every weekend. I never got anything done around the house, but we sure enjoyed tripping around. I was knocked out of my job a little over a year ago by a crooked CEO (who got canned a few months later when they caught up with him) and have been unable to find work at my age, so it's slow on the bike purchase. No biggee, life goes on, just have to be prudent with money. I have a wonderful wife that is supporting me now Cheesy, and loves to ride with me. Things will work out. I hope to meet some Valk riders and do some riding again before long.
Thanks for the welcome and I look forward to owning a Valkyrie before to much longer. Oh, and if I don't do a test ride, I won't buy, just that simple. I've ridden just about anything that will let me,(including large animals that buck),  so that shouldn't be an issue I would think, but I understand peoples hesitation when it comes to their bikes. Still, I've sold bikes and always let a test ride go along with it if the rider is qualified. If I ride just one and am good with it, I can see me buying without riding if the history is good on it.  You guys already understand what I mean, so no use belaboring the point on that.  Thanks again, and I will keep ya posted.
