I am currently installing chrome forks and a chrome triple tree (along with many other things) on a friend's Valkyrie.  After unscrewing the fork slider from the lower piece where the fender & brake are attached, be sure to transfer the o-ring and steel washer located in the bottom of that lower piece into the new chrome piece.  The 0-ring is small and fits into a grove inside the lower piece and the washer will not come out until the o-ring is removed.  Also, be aware that the lower bearing on the steering stem must be pressed off and the new bearing pressed on the new steering stem.  All the manual says is "remove" and "install".  I thought that this bit of info might benefit someone someday.  Don't ask me how I found out.  It wasn't from reading or observation...Jim  Grin

The lower bolt (radiator fluid) at the right side cylinder head is 20ft lbs torque if that.  Torque it anymore than that and it will crush the head gasket just enough to cause an oil leak.  Then you'll have the joy of removing EVERYTHING all over again  uglystupid2

Sorry could you be more specific please. I'm new to this machine and am having trouble locating the bolt you are talking about. I have the service manual, maybe you could state what matiance you were doing...

Thanks
