Not a big deal, or my first, but first on my Valkyrie. Sad

So time to get to know the bike and see what the splines look like. Took her all apart, they did have lube on them but looked dirty, so took it down to metal and put on new moly. Notice the rear brakes were bad, tickedoff PO said he had a bad habit of catching the peddle with his right foot when riding and had replaced. The way they looked I thought he had lied to me. (I only have 6000 mi, on the bike) Now down a week waiting for delivery.

Took off the tank to replace the starter switch and change the air filter. Found I hade a K&N!  cooldude cancel the filter put the money on lower plexi for the bat wing! Grin
figured as long as I was waiting on the brakes I'd put the new tire on even though it had a few more miles on it. Found the pinch bolts were darn near striped! tickedoff Some one didn't want to go metric me thinks. ok order new ones, another week to wait. Sad

Finally time to reassemble! ride-on in the rear tire dyna beads in the front cooldude Got the rear-end together, but whats that rubbing coming from my new brakes? ??? The rotors rubbing in two spots. Angry Apart she comes took off the rotor for close inspection. Yep, the PO sure did ride the brake, and warped the rotor. tickedoff Another week down and $175.00. Honda want's $300 fyi.

All in the past now! She's good to for A season (I Hope). Got in 150 miles in Saturday and she feels smooth as silk, and as mighty as a Dragon! Grin

Just like to thank every one who gave me advice and instruction through my first maintenance. What A wealth of knowledge there is in this club. And A great bunch of guys!
THANKS! cooldude

Sounds like you got her back together RIGHT!  Glad to hear you got in the 150.  It's raining here, but rode to work yesterday and got wet on the way home.  It was GREAT!!!
