It was a an overcast day with threats of snow, the first day of winter. The streets were empty, very few commuters were still making their way to work. As I rode into the office following a route I’d used countless times, somehow it all seemed new. It was like I was riding these streets for the first time. The smell of the winter air, the lack of cars and the small flurry of snowflakes hitting my face. All at once I was aware of the new experiences that this day was going to bring, each moment like those snowflakes disappearing as they landed.

It seems to me that modern man lives in boxes and then uses smaller moble boxes to move from box to box. For some people, their only time outside these boxes is spent quickly walking across a parking lot. It’s no surprise that the term many riders use for cars is cages.

Riding gets me out of the box, even if it’s just for a short time.

Ditto for me.  Especailly like yesterday's ride to werk...  Temp in the high 40's and the fat girl wants to RUN!
I got all hopped up (energized) on the way in to work and the ride home was even better, temp in the high 50's.

Perfect riding weather.

Very nice post.  It was 7 degree here today and I only thought for a short time before deciding to walk to work instead of ride as I had planned.  Still was a little chilly.
