I know you can get a chrome cover for the drive shaft, but is there such a thing as a cover for the swing arm? ???

If it is a swing arm cover you are looking for and not a pivot cover, try this.  http://www.waynesworldcycle.com/scovers.html Don't know if they are still available though.

Have you considered a complete chrome swing arm?

I put a chromed swing arm on from Big Mike at Valkyrieblingandmore.  Looks great, but then I added IS saddlebags, and cannot see it now anyway!

Try Big Mike.  He may have one.

My 97 is in a million bits at the moment, and the swing arm is not a thing of beauty imo.
Crudely welded, horrible brackets and that weird rubber sandwich....
If you chrome it, then you have to think about what to do with the brake line. I've run mine internally.
I'd use a cover just so I didn't have to look at those welds (you can't just grind them down, you have to cut the welds out and redo them properly), but a chrome cover will have an air/moisture gap between it and the swing arm.
Should last one or two British winters......

Not much of the swingarm is exposed to the viewer anyways. I don't believe the welds will show, but I really dunno. The larger concern is the aftermarket chroming itself. For example, the chrome on my 2000 saddlebag guards hasn't a speck of rust anywhere.

Thanks everyone  cooldude- turns out that Wayne of Wayne's World (see link in this thread) has some in stock, so I'll be ordering one of those.

Before fitting I'll clean up the swing arm, grind off the rust and hand paint (with zinc undercoat)to protect it from any moisture between the cover and the arm itself.
