And since Gort's head could take direct tank and .50 cal hits, it's probably much better than DOT or Snell.

Great movie - the original, that is - and throw in the fact it was made in 1951, the special effects were pretty good.  IMO, the story holds up well today.

OK, the remake wasn't that bad.  It did have Jennifer Connelly in it...   cooldude
