GOOD NEWS....Mt.Mitchell is open ....BAD NEWS....The Blue Ridge Parkway is closed
I was told around 1:00 today that the park is open but you must come in from Old Fort,NC and take the 8 mile gravel road up the mountain.
The ride is still on however I don't see us going to the summit of Mt.Mitchell. Just got off the phone with Bruce ( DDT ) and he is in my hometown now. I'm going to meet him this evening and go out for a cold one and a nice steak.
If anyone that was planning on coming but now you're not please let me know....I'll have 5 or 6 bikes leaving Clinton,TN in the morning . We'll still be meeting folks at exit 24 @11:00 as planned in fact Britman and Coot are already in Asheville....As stated ...THIS RIDE IS A GO...Just not a go to Mt.Mitchell
We know plenty of cool roads to ride out of Hot Springs so it will still be a nice ride and a good way to kick off 2012.
