Her name was Rosie, YorkiePoo, she was the sweetest thing in the world to us.

We will miss her and I know some of you all are pet owners and understand.

She was 13 last month.

Took a turn last night and she went fast. Merciful end, but I miss her terribly.

So sorry, Al. Always hard to lose a good dog. My oldest, Elvis just turned 13 last weekend and I can tell that it won't be long before we take our last walk together. My heart goes out to anyone in your position.  Embarrassed

Had to put my best friend down in April.  I can feel for you, and your family.   Best of luck, time to get another one to fill the empty spot.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Al. I'm sure she'll be missed. It's hard to understand how such a little creature can touch our lives in such a big way. We'll say a pray for you both.

My most sincere condolences to you and your family.

I, like most of us who are responding to this post, have been down the same road. I do believe in the Rainbow Bridge! And if Heaven doesn't allow dogs, I want no part of it. I love those furry kids more than most people!

Hey Al... I've been thinking about your dog and Stanley's dog and watching my

I'm so sorry to hear about Rosie.

I had to say goodby to my Ellie last year, who looked a lot like her.

I really understand your sorrow.

The Rainbow Bridge got a good one yesterday.

She was special to everyone who met her.

Loved people, never left anyone unlicked(kissed).

I hope I see her again, but if not she has burned her love into my heart forever.

Thanks for the kind words of understanding, it has helped me greatly.

So sorry for your loss. When my dog Bandit died (11/'09) someone sent me this. If it doesnt bring you comfort it will probably bring you to tears. FWIW I couldn't last without a dog and we got a puppy a month later. My sympathies.

DOG

Gentlemen of the Jury: The best friend a man has in the world may turn against him and become his enemy. His son or daughter that he has reared with loving care may prove ungrateful. Those who are nearest and dearest to us, those whom we trust with our happiness and our good name may become traitors to their faith. The money that a man has, he may lose. It flies away from him, perhaps when he needs it most. A man's reputation may be sacrificed in a moment of ill-considered action. The people who are prone to fall on their knees to do us honor when success is with us, may be the first to throw the stone of malice when failure settles its cloud upon our heads.

The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous is his dog. A man's dog stands by him in prosperity and in poverty, in health and in sickness. He will sleep on the cold ground, where the wintry winds blow and the snow drives fiercely, if only he may be near his master's side. He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer. He will lick the wounds and sores that come in encounters with the roughness of the world. He guards the sleep of his pauper master as if he were a prince. When all other friends desert, he remains. When riches take wings, and reputation falls to pieces, he is as constant in his love as the sun in its journey through the heavens.

If fortune drives the master forth, an outcast in the world, friendless and homeless, the faithful dog asks no higher privilege than that of accompanying him, to guard him against danger, to fight against his enemies. And when the last scene of all comes, and death takes his master in its embrace and his body is laid away in the cold ground, no matter if all other friends pursue their way, there by the graveside will the noble dog be found, his head between his paws, his eyes sad, but open in alert watchfulness, faithful and true even in death.

George Graham Vest - c. 1855

He/she is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his/her life, his/her love, his/her leader.
He/she will be yours, faithful & true to the last beat of his/her heart.
You owe it to him/her to be worth of such devotion.

I am so sorry for your loss and pain. We have something in common as we had to put down our 15yr old pup two days after Christmas. Cookie was half cocker and half beagle and the best dog I have ever had in my 58 yrs on this earth.
The pain will lessen but the memories will be with you forever.
