Look for a sticker on the frame under the LEFT side cover.

This brings up a question I asked last year but did not get answered. Did the factory use Base Coat/Clear Coat or single stage paint?

I think you'll find that answer on colorite. My Black/cream ACE Tourer bags need a colored base cost to come up to match the factory job.

If you are talking basic primer, then I don't know, other than EVERY paint job needs a primer, since primer adhears to a clean metal better than a show coat does.

I have posted that answer on here before.  I worked for the company (TKS Tai-Ki-Sha) for 15 years which I was laid off from 2 years ago, that built the paint shop in the Valkyrie Assembly plant in Marysville, OH.  They used E-Coat, Primer Coat, Base Coat 1, Base Coat 2, Top Coat 1, Top Coat 2, Clear Coat 1, Clear Coat 2 so there are 8 coats of paint on the Valk, 10 coats if tutone......
