not enough there to roll her over.....  Cry cranked up last night to get to the station but this AM to head to job one.... not so much.

Pushed her back into the bays, pulled the seat, checked the batt connections, good there.
12.4V, turn the key on - 10.5V, hit the starter 4.9V. Time for a new one. Pulled the battery  Shocked had about a quater cup of fluid in the box..... ??? that's not a good sign. Popped the battery open, bet I know where the acid went  tickedoff Nothing in the batt. The leak was slow enough that it was evaporating cause nothing leaked out of the batt box.  Smiley

Found a gel battery from Advanced Auto Parts. Figured I'd give it a shot cause it was ready to go and that's was better than another vac day waiting on a trickle charge up on a new one. Besides, they wanted the same price for the acid one.

The terminals on this battery has a larger surface area than the OEM/others. Parts guy says he has one in his bike, gives more cranking amps and last longer than the OEMs. We'll see

There was noticable diff when I hit the button. Was getting used to it rolling over a few time since the volt meter was showing that the alternator was charging.

Happy New Years y'all

Not that a battery tender/maintainer would have saved the battery, but you post reminded me how much I rely on my battery tenders.  I even used one on my mom's car when she was out of driving due to a knee replacement.

By the way Cutter , I have one of those Kury Volt meter's ($38) mounted right behind the handle bars to keep track of my alternater just in case  .....  Thanks the Geezer crazy2

OG -

Paid $89.99 plus uncle sam's part and has a 1 yr full replacement warranty. I have a volt meter from Oriellys that came with an L-bracket. Mounted to the left of the fuel shut off. Have it wired in behind the key. Lights up when the key is on and shows what the battery is at. As long as she starts I've been only watching the alt. performance. Rebult that puppy 3 times. I did have a Kury light meter, lasted less than a yr.

This battery rolls her over nice and fires right up. I'd would also say she idles better too now that I have a good batt in. Before this she would rise and fall at times while sitting at a light, not any more.
