Winter tires have a lot of siping done does this help with traction etc.  Seems the more traction the better>>  Next tire will be a ct.

If you're riding on ice, by all means put on a siped winter tire, but if you're riding on clean pavement (wet or dry) the sipes on the outside tread blocks will produce a larger slip angle when cornering than with a tire with solid tread blocks.  My theory is it will feel squirmy.

Aside from all that, I have to say, there are some winter snow tires that have real brute looking tread patterns that would look bad ass on the Valkyrie.

Most likely they would be very noisy and I not too sure about road holding ability. Like I really need to be concerned about that!!!!!!

google siping and search this board. was discussed before.
siping is said to reduce wear and increase traction in certain applications. there are companies out there that will sipe any tire.

snow tires very soft compound, for freezing and below temps, will wear out very fast in elevated ambient temps.

I run a Triple Tread.
I would think that a snow tire would be very noisy, slide around a lot,& not stop as well.
If it was all snow all the time maybe.

Great question, CASABROKER.

I ran a Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D Run On Flat on the late, great 'wing and it was fantastic.  Can be seen here.  It would fit the Valkyrie, but would raise the rpm:speed too much for me.

If the question is based on symmetrical tread pattern, the answer is an almost universal yes.  However, one of the things I've noticed about many winter tires, when the information is shared, is the hardness of the compound (represented by the UTQG number).  The lower the number, the softer the compound.  Depending on where you live, the riding conditions you face, and your riding style, a higher UTQG number may be just fine, but most seem to lean toward a softer compound to maintain as much grip as possible.  You'll already save money and extend the miles per tire.  My recommendation is to get the softest compound.
