There are about a million of them in the Lawton city park destroying what would otherwise be a nice place to visit. The "do gooders" and "animal rights activists" raised all kinds of Hell around here a few years ago when the city started poisoning the little rodents. They didn't even want them trapped & relocated so now we have a very large park which is not fit to take the children to play. I grew up with 40 acres of them on the farm. They were in the cow pasture directly behind the barn & cow pins. I must have killed "a million" of them when I was a kid. I remember taking dad's long barrel .22 down to the pins and shooting till all the shells were gone or there were no more heads sticking up. This was long before I could even think of holding that gun up for an off-hand shot. I'll never forget trying out my first center fire rifle on them. I was immediately amazed at the range, accuracy, and destructive power of my "new to me" 300 Savage Mod 99 with a 2.5 power Weaver scope. Yes, I hit the first one that I shot at, but the average went down quickly after that. I find that there are very few of them around any more except where they are protected...Jim
