First off, this post is not Valk related.

I need some ideas or suggestions how to ship a car hood from north of Miami to Dallas.  The seller is not motivated to ship which doesn't give me confidence that it'll will be packed to survive the trip.  From what I've found so far Greyhound is slow but cheap and UPS will not ship it due to it's size.  I can find a shipper as long as I can get the hood packed up properly.

Do any of y'all have a friend in or around Pembroke Pines that may be interested in working with me to get this hood off on it's journey to Allen?

What is the hood for.  How big and weight.  I work for Fed Ex and I have delivered some items as big as hoods before. We have a 150 lb weight limit though.

It's for my Charger.  The hood is made of aluminum and only weights around 30 #s.  The box will be approximately 5' X 5'6" X 1'.  Total weight should be under 50 #s.  It's the packing I'm worried about, not the shipping, I want it to arrive in fairly good condition, not all bent up and smashed.

I thought UPS/FEDEX had packing/packaging services.... a bit expensive, but if they will do it, and you pay, then all you have to do is get the lazy man to deliver it to them.

Why not post to the general board and see who could help from the Miami area?

Vanity!  I found an excellent deal on this one; a fully functional OEM ram air hood.

This is what it looks like now

I found a company that will pack and ship the hood if I can get the guy to just take it to them.  Heavy sigh!

The scoop is much better. Since both are blue, you'll have a fast car in either case.

Black Chargers being "a dime a dozen", maybe you could find a black hood locally and get it repainted with fast blue paint.

The SRT8 Charger hoods are rare, that's why I have to git one from Florida; I've been looking for one around here for weeks.

ForwardAir will probably handlt it for you and deliver it to their operation at Grapevine, but I have no idea of the cost. I have used them to ship engines and transmissions before and they are reasonable fo that.
