First of all I would like to thank you all for the many emails and PM's and prayers offered up for my pop He is STILL in the ICCU cardiac (Afib) unit since 12-4-11 but the pneumonia is getting better, he still has the resistant MERSER (sp?) staph infection, still taking insulin and heart drugs but he is alert, able to get into a chair with help (even tho he cant really feel his feet or move his right arm yet) These depression era kids are tough You say hi pop how are you and he answers I feel great, still breathing, still above ground He even noticed that a nurse was pretty hot (well 82 yr old standards are a bit easier than mine) so that was Real good He loves the jokes, the texan one got a belly laugh today as I stopped by (hey its only 30 miles out of the way) this morning on my way to work I still get there twice a day His old secretary even called the other day to wish him well So thanks again everyone and keep him in your prayers as he aint out of the woods yet by a long shot

Something I found out a while back that many of you probably already knew is that Oss works at the offices of Rogers and Rogers Law. Oss is the second name in that title and the man fighting the MRSA infection is the first.
That is so neat to think of a father and son working together, continuing a legacy. i wonder how much is the younger like the elder? And how much is the elder like the younger that I know?
My thoughts and prayers are for a success to the elder Rogers' fight and for more years of the partnership and bond between the two.

Carl thanks for the words and also bob eric and jess
Dad retired from our partnership 13 years ago as he lost the sight in one eye and was falling asleep alot, that was before the heart stents and cpap machine It has been my great privilege to learn law and practice with my dad for close to 20 years
Towards the last years his perfect day would be drive to work around 10 or so, take a nap, call his friends around the world (he refused to use a computer) I would take him to lunch when I returned from morning court, he takes another nap, shuffles paper on the desk and reads the mail and maybe gets a haircut from his friend the barber across the street and then drives home by 3pm
I have no kids interested in the law, maybe I talked them out of it and that is ok
At one time he had 5 secretaries where now I do more with one and a computer. But dad had TERRIFIC taste in secretaries and they all loved him

What ever you need, you got it! We're only a phone call away if needed, bro!
Glad he's doing well. The IV antibiotics will knock out the MRSA.

Oss......Your dad is a tough old bird just like my pop was....The depression era did it.....GOD bless them for this generation would perish in the same senario that they went through. I send prayers to you, and your pop, John.

The updates are GREAT! See if he'll whistle at one of the nurses or something, just so we get to hear about it all back here at the VRCC. Good on you for keeping tabs on him and keep the reports coming
