and if you do, how do you like it?

http://www.cyclegiant.com/pgroup_descrip/1172/4873/?mode=image&image=528

I can do the hand held CB with the things I have from my first Valk, but it offers no radio or way to attach any kind of music.  I would be interested in any comments you might have.

Thanking you in advance.

I also ride with HRCA 99 out of Rockwall.
Several riders in that group have these and love them.
I've been wanting one for about a year now but just haven't for one reason or another.

Hi Jean
I have this J&M CB on my 99 Valk I love it. I bought mine from www.sierra-mc.com The single hook up set runs $349.00 If you want the double hook up it $400.00. That price includes the cb unit, handlebar mount and the antenna. It free shipping. The only draw back to the handle bar mount is that the Valk's choke is in the same place the mount sits on the handle bar, so I had to make a bracket to raise the mount so I can still use the choke.
Have a great night

I also have a J&M CB, handlebar mounted.  It has built-in weather band radio and a jack that plugs into the headphone port of any audio device you care to bring along.  I use it with my iPod, but I could just as easily plug it into my GPS so I could hear the lilting tones of "Jill - British" telling me where and when to turn.  If I would bother to mess with it, I could load music on the GPS and have it all in one place.

Maybe i just have skinnier fingers, but I was able to mount it with the stock mounting bracket and still operate my choke just fine.  It's all in the same area, but there is enough clearance on the mount for the choke to move underneath the unit.  I bought mine direct from J&M at http://www.jmcorp.com/SeeProducts.asp?PF=24

One thing I've found handy is that for a shorty helmet, the Bell Drifter models have "earmuffs" that are removable and snap into the chinstrap.  I sewed my J&M speakers into the earmuffs and that keeps them in position while blocking out the worst of the wind noise.  I'm on my second Drifter now (the one with the mohawk that I wore Saturday) but the earmuffs are from my first Drifter and moved over just fine, along with the rest of the wiring.  IIRC, you can buy helmets already wired up for the J&M, and they also offer a wireless headset if you are willing to pay a little more for the Bluetooth-enabled handlebar unit.  Having seen the scratching on my tank left by the helmet wiring, I wish now I'd opted for the wireless version.  On my next bike, that's what I'll do...  but heaven send that's not for another 10 years or so.  Smiley
