Would work on a Valk as well. Killed my battery the other day leaving the GPS on, so wired up a "keyed" distribution block (only on when the key is on). Went to an autoparts store and picked everything up yesterday. Works like a charm so far. Hardest thing is finding which keyed wire you want to tie into to energize the relay. Hot on one side and ground on the other (you can't ground to the frame on a Wee because of different metals, etc). Mounted inside the "glove box" under the seat.    Still have to tidy up the wires and make a permanent mount (just temp right now until I get the fit and finish right). Anyway, going to do my Valkyrie next. Whoooo-Hooooo. Sure hope I spelled everything correctly.  I sure would hate for the spelling/grammar police to write me a ticket or anything. You know the Stroms, Strider. Yeah, the frame is not a good ground, can cause all kinds of problems.
I'm looking at mounting some kind of highway pegs on the V. Yann comes to mind. Steel skid plate with an extended bar and highway pegs mounted to it. It would get the pegs low and out.
I have to stretch my knees after about an hour's riding.

Mr Wayne. I got a set of the Happy Trails for the same reason. Bar mounts to the front of the skid plate. Pegs are folded in during these shots.   Pegs are out in this one....  |

Warren, I think that Happy Trails is another name for Yann's products. If so, that's what I'm saving up for.
How does it work for you? The highway pegs are longer than normal on Yanns to make a more comfortable fit for your knees past the wide tank tupperwear on the 'Stroms.

Wayne.. fyi... happy trails is not Yann.. HT is in boise ,, I have their hwy pegs and i really like e, but now that you mention it it would be nice if they were a tad bit wider.. its a bit of a strain sometimes to keep the feet safely on em because of the reason you mentioned.. maybe Striders bullegged..  |

I installed a Centech fuse block/relay on my Valk. Works great and is easy to install. I have the model that has both switched and unswitched connections.

They do not put your knees out. They are a bit strange if you are use to the wide stance of the Valkyrie's highway pegs. Especially if you have the engine guards on the Strom. To be in a cruiser position, they would need to stick out more, but then you would have to worry about them digging in when making a turn. They are not comfortable enough that I would want to keep my feet there throughout a long trip (feet near frame and knees into tank) but they do offer a different position during a long trip to stretch your legs every now and then. I like them but they just feel strange (position) but really can't go anywhere else - perhaps fold outs on the engine guards, but then they would be too high.

Thanks Tom. Yes, that is the problem on the Stroms. Yann's pegs are much wider (longer) than normal. I'm not worried about them dragging as I already have a centerstand that has decreased the clearance on the V and I don't take the curves as fast anymore. His pegs also fold up completely. A simple solution would be to put highway pegs on the Givi engine guards but then they'd be too high and not far enough out and down for me. I'd need a derrick to hoist my bad knees up that high.  |

You have that bike looking good Warren I sometimes miss my Suzuki Bandit 1200 S and wished I had'nt sold it that bike gave me 31,000 trouble free miles and always got me home. Are you going to be at InZane ?  |

BOYZ..I started out with fold up pn the crashbars and for the most part they were INDEED too high.. made it difficult to get feet back to normal position in an emergency.. but on a long trip they were nice to rest the back side of the ankles on to strech out Z knees
