From what I read in the article Fox news IS broadcast from NY into Canada, they just can't produce a Fox newscast in Canada.  Roll Eyes

Read the rest of the article  coolsmiley

In 2003, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) rejected a Canadian Cable Telecommunications Association (CCTA) application to bring Fox News to Canada because Fox News U.S. and Global Television were planning to create Fox News Canada, a combination of U.S. and Canadian news. However in 2004, after a Fox U.S. executive said there were no plans to create the combined channel, the CRTC approved an application to bring Fox News to Canada.[77]

Fox News Channel is currently offered by Access Communications, Bell TV, Cogeco, Eastlink, Manitoba Telecom Services, Rogers, SaskTel, Shaw Cable, Shaw Direct and Telus TV. A notable exception is Vidéotron, Canada’s third largest cable company, which has not added Fox News Channel to its lineup.

I think what they meant was that our cable companies can carry American FOX stations . In London, we get Channel 2 out of Detroit on our cable service. I think they didn't want FOX to set up a new TV/news network up here. Got to watch our Canadian content.

Well 1st off that link in the original post is to a site of a  obviously left wing loon that doesnt know crap.

When Fox news launched in the United States the debate was to set up a 2nd Fox news in Canada.
Much like ET (Entertainment Tonight) which has its own Canadian version being prodcast here in Canada.

Fox news never followed through.
But not because they couldnt.
They just didnt.

Sun News (a national news channel) here in Canada launched last spring.
While Fox news may have thought there wasn't a market in Canada for that type of programming.
Sun News filled the market void and has being doing quite well.

So we Canadians that are of the Conservative stripe currently get the best of both worlds.
Fox News and Sun News.

Confusion on this subject can arise by surfing bleeding heart leftest sites that like to beat their tiny chests and stamp their little feet

Because this flies in thier face of their belief that Canada is some sort of Marxist Leftest Liberal Utopian that would never allow such programming on the Air.

Infortunately Americans are fed the same garbage about Canada being a Marxist Leftest Liberal Utopian by far right morons like Micheal Savage and others of his ilk as well.

The over use of the caricature "eh" is a well known eastern Canadian linguistic deficiency.

Also well know is its infectous tendicies to spread metabolically from person to person via a suspected airborne virus the enters through the ears and in short order lodge's its itself in the nearby broco area of the brain.

The Broco (speech area) is situated underneath a persons temples.
When listening to a Canadian infected with the "eh" speech impediment ... one may find themselves rubbing their temples.

This may be a sign that the virus has already entered through the ears and is now trying to lodge itself in the Broco area of the brain.

Here in the Great Republic of Alberta ... much like we keep our area of North America Rat free.
The Republic diligently combats the "eh" virus.

1st .. we isolated most eastern workers to Fort McMurray
2nd .. those that happen to mingle within the Republics general population may be  greeted with a swift kick to the nutsack on any over use of the infectous "eh"
