I just finished the truck stack mod, and am very happy with the sound!
I did not ride after install. It's been raining here in North jersey last couple days.
I got the 36" stacks from Airflow Systems. I cut the back 8" off the back of the cans, and slammed the stacks on. I also got the silencers from MarkT for when I ride to work at night.
I think it sounds good with or without the silencers. Here are a couple of videos

Your video link seems to be busted.  Maybe it's just me but I don't get anything with that link.

Glad you like your truck stacks....I know I like mine.

Hey dragon, do you have glass packs or did you do the ragner cut?

I cut the back 8" section of the can off

I bought the bike off big al and he told me that the exhaust was a mark-t set of pipes with the baffles removed.  But later smokinjoe said that they were actually dragon exhaust (made here in Ohio) so who knows.

Guess bottom line I have no idea how they were modded since I bought it that way but I like the sound (except for a little drone out on the highway) and the way the pipes look on the bike.

Your bike sounds good with the baffles.  I might have to build me a set to put in my stacks to see if I can get rid of the drone a little bit.

I can't tell for sure from the distance and angle but I think I'm seeing the edge of a muffler clamp from the low angle view.  If you have muffler clamps at the forward end of the glasspack, I made them.  No one else is building them, or has built them with back-side protruding muffler clamps that I know of.  If no clamps - then I might have made them anyway depending on other options.  Most of my glasspack mods without crossover have a muffler clamp except if the buyer wants me to make it as short as possible, or otherwise specifies for me to build it by welding the glasspacks in.  I have built far more OEM modified exhaust systems than anyone else - well over 1,000 - probably more than all other builders combined, I'm guessing.  So odds are high they came from Horseapple Ranch.

Hi Mark, those silencers work great. I'm very happy with them.

You should be getting my cores back by mid-week. I shipped them out to you today

Thanks Paul

Did you make any adjustments to your carbs needle jets?  I was under the impression that if you open up the exhuast, you need to re-jet. ???

I could be wrong on that, I often am. Embarrassed

I have not test rode it yet due to rain and temps in the low 20s. But it sounds great, idles fine, and doesn't sputter when i apply throttle in the garage. So i think i won't need to rejet. And with the silencers in, it's just like having a stock exhaust minus the piggies.

Fudgie:

When you said you cut 3 1/2 inches, did you mean off the piggies or the end of the muffler can?
Did you cut the rear baffles in half?
I cut 8 inches off the end of the muffler cans. Eliminating the rear baffle sections.

These are the silencers I bought from MarkT:
If you cut the cans at 8 inches, and have the right tools you can make your own silencers. But I got them from MarkT and sent him my cores for a credit.
MarkT's silencers have the piggies cut down closer to the welds, which look better(IMO) in the stacks

I cut it 3 1/2" back from the base of the piggies. I cut the pigs years ago. Its in front of the rear baffles but they are drilled.

What are "silencers"?  I assume that they're the complete rear baffle set....undrilled, that'll slid into a set of extensions or stacks.....correct?  MarkT sells these?

How long are they (excluding the shortened piggies)?

Mark.....how much are a set....without cores to exchange?

Yes, they are the complete rear baffle section undrilled, piggies cut off
They are about 7 1/2 inches long and MarkT sells them on his website
