Dropped off my Valkyrie Trike for service this past weekend at Blue Ridge PowerSports in Harrisonburg, VA. Great dealership and an authorized MotorTrike center. Going to have them go over her from stem to stern, service and replace what ever needs to be done and also install a new custom exhaust. Now of course, I just couldn't drop her off and leave with out strolling around the show room. And there it was,,, a brand new beautiful black Gold Wing Trike, all dressed up!!! I just had to see what it felt like to sit on her. Talk about a real cushy cruiser for those long trips. And,, as we all well can imagine,, the salesman just happened to know that I had brought in my Valkyrie for servicing. So he starts mentioning that he could give me a great price on the Wing along with top dollar for the Valk. I just smiled and said; 'No thanks. I put a hell of a lot of time and customizing into my Valk. Don't feel like starting over'. I didn't even ask the price of the Wing nor what he'd offer for my Valk. But,,,, I can't get that Wing out of my head, lol. Come on guys & gals,,,. Talk me out of it!!!!

Civic convertable,,, lol,,,... When I said that I can't get that Wing out of my head, that is definitely a true statement. But to actually move on the idea is clearly nuts! I'll be hopefully retiring next year and the last thing I need to do now is lay out more money on something that is clearly not needed. I had always wanted to have a motorcycle again along with a hotrod. My Valk trike is both of those all rolled up into one! And with all of the money I've spent on customizing this trike, I'd really need to have my head examined to merely trade it away on a whim! I just put this post out here to entertain and show how that little devil that sits on our shoulder is always looking to get us into trouble. Safe riding everyone!!

Buy the Wing, tow it behind the Valk for a spare. Just put new tires on the Wing every 15,000 miles. Also , disconnect the Wing speedo so you can sell it in 10 years as a low milage trike. da prez

Lol,,,. You guys really aren't helping me here!! How-ever, just for curiosity sake, I will ask them what they would give me for the Valk when I pick her up after servicing. I really can't see having two trikes and after all I've done to my Valk, well, there this kind of bond I have with her. I'm sure most of you can understand that loyalty.

it would take you at least 10 years to appreciate (and pay off the loan) the goldwing, then after that, you'd just blend into the croud with all the other goldwingers...... i'd keep the Valk, it's a clasic, the wing, is just a wing.....

I work for Eagle Rider. We rent the Goldwing trike and the regular Goldwing also. I've ridden them and I have to say, it's unlikely that there is a more comfortable and cushy stock motorcycle anywhere. It has every possible bell and whistle but it doesn't quite (in my opinion) have the charachter that the Valkyrie does.
That being said, whichever bike gets you happily on the road is the right one.

Yes, those Gold Wings do have every imaginable option! But I do have to fully agree regarding that "special character" the Valkyrie has. And as I had mentioned earlier, retirement is a year away. At this point in time, spending more money and/or having payments isn't the smart thing to do. My Valkyrie Trike will stay with me for the foreseeable future! Thanks for all of the discussion. This is a great forum!
