    cooldude cooldude Yes, spectacular!
i went there a number of years ago with 2 buddies to go skiing.  we stayed at the Banff Springs Hotel, originally built in 1888 and in the Banff National Park.

went to Lake Louise and Sunshine to ski.  what fun!  a trip i will always remember.

First part of this, my one and only youtube video, is of Icefields Parkway. Photos taken in 2005 after my one and only visit to  Sturgis.

I live within an to an hour or two of most of the posted video. I have always loved living here but it hasn't been till about the last 10 years that I actually really appreciated what a beautiful place Alberta is.
We share Glacier National Park with you folks in the south, it was there I met some people from Chicago. They asked where I was from and when I answered, they said how fortunate I was to live so close to such magnificence!  Smiley "Yeah I guess" was my response.  ??? At that point I realized how I took for granted where I live.  uglystupid2
This post is intended to show some more of the scenery around Calgary where I live, not as a hi-jack of this thread. I posted this on another forum a while back so I just copied it............

Finally got to ride with my dad (sort of) who is 86 years old. At the end of this week we'll be celebrating mom and dad's 64th wedding anniversary!
Dad never seen this day coming as I never had a bike before this. Dad is in the car behind me with my brother (in-law).

This is the same route we took on the "VR" group ride a couple weeks earlier.

My Dad and Brother (in-law) taking a break and having the best homemade pie and a coffee!!

This is me and my Dad doing the same.

It was a good day for a ride and I know dad enjoyed it as did my brother (in-law). We are so fortunate to live so close to such beauty!

Sometimes it takes non-Albertans to help us realize what we have outside our front doors.

Next time I do the Saskatchewan Crossing/Jasper loop, I'll take pix. Living near the Rockys just seems natural now.

FB and I went up the Kootenay in BC, crossed over to Alberta and down thru Banff....BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY!!!!!! The Canadian Rockies blow me away...
One day we want to take the rail from Alberta, across the mountains to the coast in BC.....but that may happen after I can't swing a leg over the bike..LOL
