I just inherited a box of old family 8mm movies that I would like to see.

If anyone has a working projector that they want to part with just let me know what we could do to make that happen.

Thanks

there are places you can send in the tape and have them converted to CD or DVD.  my sister had a bunch of old movies converted and sent them out to siblings.

a projector is easy, bulbs for it might be a bit harder to find.

I think many "digital 8 camcorders" are backwards compatible (for playback)
with the older analog formats. You can hook their digital output to your computer
(some have firewire or USB) and save digital copies to watch on your computer
(or whatever)...

If you want to use a projector for nostalgia's sake I can understand that. For posterity sake, have them converted b4 you do. Every time you run old film damage is done. cooldude

I am going to look into getting them converted tomorrow.  That's probably the smartest option.

Thanks
