Four wheels move the body, 2 wheels move the soul

Van, Texas

« on: January 19, 2012, 05:39:37 PM »

My old windshield has gotten so scratched and oxidized that it is hard to see through.  I am looking for a replacement.  Anyone have one sitting around that is still in good shape?  Or suggestions on where to get one.  thanks

hey jim,  i have an ms fats if you're interested.  you'd need to get fork bands for mounting.  it does have the mount pieces on the shield itself and is in good shape.

I bought a shield from Clear View. I ordered the wrong size and they were very quick to get me the right one. Good service.

I run a showchrome on mine it is 2in taller and 4ins wider on each side than stock. I ride in allll types of weather and it has serviced me well.

+1 on Clearview. They have a sale going on for minimally scratched new windshields.

Clearview .... Me Too! Materials are far superior to OEM and available in taller/shorter heights.

I put a aircraft quality windshield on my interstate several years ago.  Very satisfied with Cee Baileys:

+1 for Clear View, and they are also having a sale right now, 30% off in stock stuff.

Mine was discounted already for a small scratch or 2.  After i got it, installed it and pealed the protector off, i could not find the scratches at all. I love mine, and have the largest one they make for the I/S.

Compared pricing and the CeeBee new, unscratched is cheaper than the Clearview and I like the fact it's aircraft quality. Dave's recommendation is good enough for me.  It is on order - finally going to change out that crazed, peeling original.

Sorry, Jim.

I was getting ready to order a shorter replacement for mine when my alternator took a dump. Had to go with the alternator, instead. My offer still stands if you still need it when I do swap mine out.

I can still see thru the windshield I am replacing so it may be better than what you have.  You are welcome to it once the new one arrives.

Club sponsor is http://www.f4customs.com/

I recently got a clearview for my standard because F4 couldn't do a standard shield with the vent I wanted in it.  Like the clearview service and communication, but have also heard good things about F4.

Clearview has also extended their inventory clearance sale, but it's hit or miss on whether they have one you want in the inventory.

Thanks guys for all the ideas and suggestions.  After much consideration from you I have decided to order one from Cee Baileys.  Thanks Rain and Lucky 1 for the offers, I appreciate it.
Thanks again everyone
