Humm, sounds like someone had a fuel-lock.. Embarrassed   I'd be a bit surprised if you could find a used one, a good one anyway..

I bet "Jason O" would sell his cheap... and it's only missing one tooth!

But honestly, for such an important part that is a TON of work to get at... $50 is a small price to pay for new one so you don't have to worry about its longevity.

By the time you buy or make the sockets to get to it the $50 won't bother you at all. I would order the gear as well as idler gear it turns, along with a gasket for the rear case you have to remove.

Yeah sadly enough this is not my first rodeo with this damn thing. about 2 years ago it did this and yes it was fuel in the #6 cylinder. at the time i replaced the gear of course, the petcock and cleaned the valves in the carbs.  found a little rust and some sand (yeah west texas). i went ahead and seal the gas tank.

What is the electric fuel shut off i have heard about?

i will...
 replace the gear
new gasket
new valves in the carbs
electric shut off

dont want to play with this again

anyother suggestions while the motor is out?

#6 cylinder both times sounds like you may be getting a fuel leak down the vacuum line?

If that's the case, the electric fuel shutoff won't fix it for you.

Very nice price, but is this part something that is easily "worked around"?

Q. Do I need to login to the site to place an order?
A. No login is required but your dealer status will be verified once the order is placed.

Q. What do I need to do now to start ordering?
A. Nothing, we will log you in as a dealer as soon as we see your order come through and verify you status.
