85 years old and Battling Lung Cancer

He has passed away as of this afternoon.

God Rest his soul and help his family to have peace.

Font Size:    (CBS/AP)- CBS Sports reports Joe Paterno, the man who for decades was synonymous with Penn State football and was known by the college football world as just "JoePa", has died.

But, Paterno family spokseman Dan McGinn tells the AP that reports of former Penn State coach's death are 'not true'

CBS Sports says Paterno, 85, had been receiving chemotherapy as part of his treatment for lung cancer, and complications from that treatment claimed the longtime Penn State coach's life on Saturday

I may have jumped the gun in a bazarre twist the family spokes person claims he is still alive.

I hope he is but CBS says otherwise.

That is very bad.

He's not dead.  The school newspaper just jumped the gun a bit trying for some "breaking news".

A couple local radio stations announced my death in 2007. SEVERAL of my customers told me they could not pay their bill because they already spent the money because I was dead and they did not have to pay a dead man. Accounts receivable was never the same again.  Embarrassed

Yes my wife thankfully corrected me as he is simply on life support.

Local news off of the AP reported he had passed away and it seemed reliable on the local level.

That's more bad news to a family that suffered enough already.

Hope he pulls through, he has a lot to be proud of in life.

Sad he had such a freak that worked for him in Sandusky.

As in the Bible as Jesus so eloquently put it, One who offends one of these little ones should be thrown in the river with

a mill stone tied around his neck and I agree.
