Happy Mother's Day to all the great moms we have. Noah's mommaw took him shopping yesterday and he was so excited when he got home I had to open it last night. My Mother in Law so he picked the gifts, the card and the gift bag all by himself.

You is one lucky mom.........

My grandmother on dad's side after he died on Iwo Jima, always took me shopping for a Mother's Day gift for mom..

She always said her worthless assed sons (3 of em) didn't have a clue what a card was for, or how to treat a Lady.

She always told it like it was and if you told her a fib, wow, ya got your mouth washed out with bar soap, she would cut a piece off the bar and make ya chew it up, then she took ya to the wood shed and laid some leather on the wittle bare bottom..  Ate a few meals standing up, but I loved her to death, and I think she is the one who really got me interested in the LEO profession.

Only told her one fib, rest of my leather entanglements was due to me being a well, we won't go there.  She is also the one who told me I'd never live to see 21, because I tried to ride all the farm animals we had.   Guess I fooled her butt.   Goats and hogs, 4 legged ones, were the hardest to ride, LOL

I grew up on a farm and have 1 brother 2 years older than me and there were no other kids around so me and my brother were into everything. Mom had the switch (tree limb) she kept on top of the fridge and I think I got wacked at least once a day with it but when Mom said my whole name I knew I was really in trouble and that meant I got the belt when my Dad got home. Most of my whippings came from talking my brother into doing something that shouldn't be done and he wouldn't rat me out but my Mom always knew I was behind it. You would think with all the whippings I got I would be against it but I'm a firm believer in it. I can't stand to hear a parent tell their child "You do that one more time" and never follow thru, the kid knows they are getting away with it and in the long run it's hurting them. Noah is 15 and has only been spanked 5 times , he knew when me or his Dad said "one more time" we meant it so his last spanking was in kindergarten.

Happy Mother's day to you.

From reading Noah's posts it sounds like his parents have done a darn good job.

Or is there a red suited angel sitting on one of his shoulders?  Smiley

Good on you darlin.......

The kids were all over here today except for the one in Alaska and they were talking about mom some.

One of them said if dad hadn't of whomped his arse as he called it, he was headed in the wrong direction on drugs.......  He admitted to smokin 1 joint, choking on it and never ever putting another one in his mouth....

We lived in a small town when I was a CHP, and 99.9% of the time, any trouble the kids got into beat them home.  LOL.  So they tried to behave.

I think only 1 of my kids doesn't follow through on the one more time and her oldest boy now lives in another  town with his grandparents, dad's family.  She couldn't control him and she knew if I took him he'd get his butt blistered.....   I hate to say it but if someone doesn't snap his attitude shortly, he will do a jail term of some sort.  OH, ya, her husband left her because of this.  He spanked Johathan one night and she had him thrown in jail.  I bailed him out and when he appeared before the judge he walked out to never return.....   She was a little 'B' growing up, and always in trouble.    She is the only 1 of the 5 who felt the spanking didn't do her any good......   DUH.............

Enjoy the rest of your day.........  Give Cowbell a great big old hug and tell him you love him......

RJ was talking about the kid who tried a joint and got sick well my brother never did that but when he was 15 he came home from school and told my Mom he wanted to start dipping snuff. Well I just sat there waiting for my Mom to rip into him but she just looked at him and said o'k when we go the grocery store tonight after supper make sure you put it in the cart, I think I fell off my chair. So Johnny put the snuff in the cart and as soon as we got in the truck going home he popped it in his mouth. Now we lived in the country on a curvy road by the time we got home he was as green as the Grinch and hanging his head out the window like a dog on a hot day. When he open the door he crawl to the concrete porch and laid there all night. Johnny never dipped snuff again and he turned 45 today and is still teased about that. Mom's do know a thing or two!
