It looked to me like the bird was having a hard time staying airborne. I'm guessing it was a young one. If that was it's first hop from the nest, it would have stayed where it landed for a while.
Still a great video. I'm also impressed with the singers professionalism in that he never missed a beat. The song sounded pretty good even without his guitar.
