After convincing myself "NOT" to trade in my Valk Trike, I'd like to add one more option/customization to her if possible. I'd like to add an Interstate trunk. My Valk is a Standard. (Although with all of the added options it's really a Tourer at this point and she already has an IS gas tank). Not quite sure what I'd need to do this. I know I'll have to get or fashion some type of support structure/rails. Any and all suggestions and sources are appreciated!  Here's 2 photos of the back end at present;

If it were me, I would buy the trunk and mounting pieces. Then take it to a fabricator. There will be no easy install since the trike kit is already complete. If there is a local trike shop, they may be able to give you some help.

That's what I kinda thought. The normal attachment points for the mounting rails are below the top of the trike's back end as seen in the photos I attached.

Get ahold of Bigbuck on here. His wife rides a Mototrike converted trike with a Tsukayu trunk mounted on it. I think that there is custom made bracketry for mounting. It looks really good. In fact, I think it looks better than the OEM trunk on the Mototrike (goes better with the lines of the trike). I can attest to the fact that the Tsukayu trunk is really nice. i had one on a 97 Standard and since sold that trunk to MP here on the board who, I believe, still uses it today. Here is a link to a description and photos when I mounted it on my 97; gives you an idea of what they look like: http://www.valkyrieguy.com/tsutrunk.htmWorth a look...

Thanks Joe. I'll first have to look into how I'm going to go about mounting it due to the trike conversion blocking the mounting points for the rails. I'll know more over the weekend.

You will want the IS fender rails, trunk with mounting brackets.
I see you still have your fender rails on the bike, the IS's will have the 4 tabs/bolts that the trunk support will mount too. I still have mine, slightly damaged, from my IS wrecking, for sale.
Otherwise, you could fab the tabs with bolts, and weld them to yours. Depending on your passenger, and how much more room is wanted, would allow you to have a custom fit.
I have mounted the IS trunk to my ACE Tourer. I made a pair of adapters to bolt up to the fender rail bolts, and bolt the stock holes on the trunk mounting braket to the plate. I moved my trunk back about an extra 1 1/2" to get some extra room for my wife. Wired the lights into the stock plug and all works well.
note: took another look at your 1st pic, and looks like you may have to raise the trunk up higher to get over your existing trunk.

Yes if you mount it to high to allow your trunk to open it wont be comfortable for the passenger. Maybe the trike co has some ideas.

What version of trike kit is it? When Roadsmith puts together a kit for you, they ask if it's a Std./Tourer or an I/S with the trunk mounted. Reason for it is they cut out part of the rear section of the body on top to accommodate the special brackets they make to mount the I/S trunk. It might be worth a call to them to see what's involved, could save you a lot of extra work and expense. If nothing else, maybe you could at least buy the mounting brackets from them.

All great suggestions here.
I'd like to be able to retain my passenger back rest if possible. I believe this MotorTrike conversion was their first. I can see that there is no way to access the bolts to the side rails without taking the entire rear body off and that's something I don't want to do!
The only option I have is to fabricate some type of mounting to the sissy bar. Maybe the IS trunk might not work, although that's the one I really wanted. I might have to go with one of the other brands as mentioned like the Tsukayu. I'll really look at it closely tomorrow and post here again.

If you aren't willing to get access to the bolts of the fender rails, then I would forget the IS trunk.
With regards to something else, you might be able to mount a rack on that back rest, and then you can put anything onto that. Something like a Givi, or we had a memeber use an old GL1200 trunk. Looked nice, and they are cheap (sometimes).

If that is a california sidscar kit you will have to remove the body to replace the finder rails for the the trunk. Also if I remember corectly the bodys are different for the IS and standard. The IS has a flat place for the trunk. Shortleg[Dave]

Talk to Lady Draco or HIghbinder, they have a Std with the I/S box on it, and she also has a I/S converted to a Trike.
Her rides, look top notch. I think she said that California Side Car, whose kits she have on both Trikes, is just down the road or close by in Virginia.

As mentioned there is no way to access the side rails other than removing the body. I'm definitely not going to do that! At present, I'll just see if there's a way to make some kind of mounting to the sissy bar as I also don't want to loose or remove the passenger back-rest as per Gordonv's statement above. As yes, it's a Motor-Trike conversion for a standard Valk. Just got her back yesterday from BlueRidge PowerSports in Harrisonburg (Motor-Trike service center) after a full end-to-end servicing including cleaning all carbs. (I can't do this kind of maintenance myself). She's running like a "bat-outa-hell" now, lol. Now I just have to make sure I run her as much as possible or at least drain the carbs. Again I appreciate all of the interest and suggestions! Time will tell how, or if it progresses. Thanks again!

Here are a couple of posts. The trunks are mounted on ACE Tourers, which from the back, look just like a Valkyrie Tourer. Mutazu DMY http://hondashadowacetourer.yuku.com/topic/12417/New-Trunk-on-the-TK&G Engineering http://hondashadowacetourer.yuku.com/reply/97437/Another-Trunk-Mounted-on-a-Tourer#reply-97437GL1100 - shows how it was mounted http://hondashadowacetourer.yuku.com/topic/12218/My-T-with-Goldwing-GL1100-Trunk-and-GL1100-Trunk-Mount?page=1I chose these because they have some nice clear pictures, showing what it would look like. Then my ACE Tourer with my IS trunk on it. It has been mistaken for a Valkyrie or IS, until someone looks around at the engine. I made a couple of plates from 1/4" steel, which bolted to the OEM bike, and inside the trunk mounting brackets. No modification required. http://hondashadowacetourer.yuku.com/topic/14197/Valkyrie-Interstate-trunk-on-ACE-Tourer
