Cam Cover Gaskets
«

I am buying some chrome cam covers and before I bought then I asked the seller on ebay if they were just pieces that covered the oem covers and if not did it come with gaskets. He replied it is the actual cover but does not come with gaskets. My question is does this actually take a gasket or is it a rubber seal that is in the rear housing. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not %100 sure, but best I remember it's a reusable rubber seal.
Somebody correct me iffen I'm wrong, but I don't think there's
any oil behind the cam covers...so no leaking....so no gasket.

There shouldnt be any oil behind the D-shaped cam cover. Pull off the old one, reuse the rubber seal put the new SHINY BLING and you are good to go.

When I took mine off there was just a rubber seal between the cover and the head. There was no oil behind the cover and the rubber seal had a minor crease in it. I coated the seal with a little black RTV and reinstalled the cover. Its been like that for over three years with no ill effects.
