We would like to get another Meet in the Middle run scheduled.  After some discussion, we've picked the two dates listed above (March 11 and April 15).  Choose one or the other, or both, based on whether you're likely to go on that date.  This is gauging interest, and trying to determine which date would be best.  So, speak up and be heard.

To make it as easy as possible to schedule one or both weekends, March 11 just happens to be 3 weeks after the Wild Game dinner and 3 weeks before GOTF, and April 15 splits the time between GOTF and the Houston R4K.   cooldude

Woody's is a gas station that cooks BBQ every day.  They have all kinds of jerky, beef, buffalo, turkey, etc...etc...
I really like the smoked pork chop.  It's about 3/4 inch thick.  Free red beans and iced tea with every BBQ meal.

http://www.woodys-smokehouse.com/

It is half way between Houston and DFW, or close enough.  Only problem is that there aren't any good roads (unless you count 75) from Houston up to Centerville.

I like Woody's, but I'm weird sometimes.  Maybe I just like the atmosphere.

During the early part of my membership here Denise and I with some friends carried the Thor hammer  banner from Houston to Centerville. We met up with a couple of guys from the Dallas  area one was Winterhawk and some skinny guy named Jeff. The place we met was (drum roll please) Woody's. A very good place to eat and get some jerky to eat on the way home.

Thor's Hammer brings back memories. Spike and I rode from the DFW area to Amarillo and back on the same day on Saturday Jan. 31st. We arrived in Amarillo and had to wait for a few hours for the New Mexico valk riders to deliver the Thor's Hammer. By the time we left Amarillo it was starting to get dark and a cold front was moving in. It was a cold day anyways and by the time we got back to the DFW area (around midnight) I was a frozen popsickle. My wife said that I was crazy. I wouldn't have missed that ride for anything.     Smiley

Count me in.  I'll be coming up from San Antonio area.  Ride for food?  Who in their right mind would do that?  I have been trying to hit Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives the Texas list for the last two years.  never been to Woody's, sounds like a good place to me.

I was in Weatherford and Rowlett on Saturday being Sancho for my wife's parties.  Sunday, we took a little ride to Donna (next to McAllen) for some school events for the week.  Would have liked to come but sometimes business trumps fun. And I need to keep Mama happy so she'll let me make other rides.

You guys riding in the rain - my hat is off to you.

OK, I think I've stalled long enough.  Let's call it for March 11.  We can keep the April date as a date for another ride, either another MIM, or another event that might be occurring around then.
Rough concept:  Meet for lunch in Centerville at ~12.  I'll call ahead to warn them about the influx, but would like to hear from folks if you plan to make it.  It's not a carved-in-stone committment, but the better the headcount, the better the call-ahead.  Post here if you plan to make it.
Each city's group should come up with an interesting ride up there, and back.  Please start a new thread for each area bringing riders in, thus the ride plans won't get all tangled up.  I'll start the Houston thread momentarily.

we're planning on it!  I'll be caging it, from Denton.   Plans now are for Wizard to ride to Denton (conference we're attending doesn't permit motorcycle parking in the area), and head to Centerville from there.  So add 2 more!
