Today started off well, got to ride the Valk to work which is unusual on the last day of January in Indiana.

It's not ending so well though. My son Andy's wife Autumn is in the hospital with a bad kidney infection. She'd been feeling bad for a while but just thought it was typical pregnancy problems. During her scheduled doctors visit today they found the kidney problem and sent her straight to the hospital. She and Ryder, my "soon to be" 5'th grandson seem to be doing OK but prayers can only help.

Their first try ended in a ruptured tubal pregnancy which scared us all and was heartbreaking for them. We're way beyond that now thankfully, Ryder is due March 13'th.

Andy, Autumn, myself and the family thank you all greatly for the prayers and good wishes. I just got back from the hospital a little while ago. Autumn is feeling better. The kidney infection caused her to go into early contractions and last night they thought Ryder might have been arriving early.

The contractions are continuing but seem less strong and it looks as if they will be able to prevent his early arrival. At least for a while. Every day his arrival is delayed will make him stronger. I don't go to church (the world would probably end if I walked in the door) but I'm a firm believer in the Lord and prayer and I just don't have the words to express how much we appreciate the prayers. I'm really lucky to be a small part of this club.

Mike

By the way, as if Ryder himself isn't Valk related enough. It's February 1'st and I rode home tonight on the superslab in jeans and a jacket without being cold. This time last year I think I had been without power for several days. I truly love Indiana weather.
