Wow, pretty impressive... I've been using Linux as a server OS for... longer than I'd care to admit... I've got a Linux server at home that runs my web sites (Any picture I post is hosted on my Linux web server), my home e-mail, DNS for my domains, as well as controls my aquarium... Never did really use it for a desktop OS though.

I use it too. I got tired of waiting on windows to load, constantly fighting viruses, updates, new versions, yadda, yadda, yadda. I no longer ever have issues every time I turn around, I really like it. Only one problem, I am not savvy enough to correct a small problem like, after installing a new video card, getting video's to play at the proper speed. Like you-tube, videos are playing to fast and the sound is gone now too. I know the card will work properly if I knew how to make it work, but I cannot due the programming stuff. I'm just a dummy when it comes to that. Oh, very fast too.

We have a guy here at work that swears by it! One of these days I'll try it as well.

I hate FF beyond 3.6 so I nuked it and went with Macbuntu 10.10. So far so good. It looks real nice and works great. As for the video card issue, try this and see if it helps.

Last ran Linux about 4 years ago, dual booting on my HP laptop. I used the Gnome gui. Wow! Looks like they've come a long way. Never heard of Macbuntu til now. Screen shot looks fantastic. Linux is great, but I think you have to be at least a little bit of a gear head. There's no 1-800-help-me-Steve-Jobs. (alternately Bill-Gates) I just got lazy and started sending money to Apple™.

Install additional drivers in UbuntuPlease tell me you did this on purpose, trying to be a smart@ss. You do realize that you responded to someone's "I can't view videos" comment, by posting a video on how to fix his problem, don't you? Mark

Good to hear.
In order to be helpful, rather than just critical: I would think your problem is software related, rather than O/S/hardware. I would try updating your flash player, especially the Mozilla/Firefox flash player plugin.
