I rode a V-rod to check it out. Not bad, good power, starts and runs well. If there was not such a thing as a Valkyrie, it would be on my wish list, except for one thing. I have never ridden anything more awkward and uncomfortable on a stock motorcycle. The forward controls are awful. If they would make a model that has the controls further back, it would be great. A set of highway pegs where the controls are would be fine, but I had to bend my feet upward to shift or brake. Why not build a model with the controls in a normal position and boards or pegs where the controls are now? That is the only flaw other than more vibration , and some of us would like to be able to lean one way or another for carving curves at speed and for launch when doing the stop light tango. Handlebars can be modified with aftermarket parts, I would not have a problem with that. ??? Hoser

Rode one when they 1st came out. Our ER doc stopped by for me to try it. I agree with you on all accounts. Lotta power. I was doing 80 in 3rd gear. Wind was horrible on my 3/4 helmet. Felt strangled.

I remember seeing one at the dealer with "normal" controls. I think is was called the Hotrod or the Streetrod. Dont quote me on the name.

Friend of mine (big harley fan) had one for a while. Said it was the most uncomfortable bike he'd ever ridden.

Mark, I think the one with regular controls was called the StreetRod, and the one with normal controls was the HotRod.
My nephew, will only ride Harley, found out it was engineered by someone else, he sold it to the highest bidder for a pretty healthy loss. NO problem for him, single and has a $100,000 annual income.
He has a 24X24 garage full of Harley's. Some run, some don't. He has 3 different bikes he rides when it is possible. One of them he will ride in the winter if it isn't below 20*. I know, he is nuts, mom or dad must have given him a good whack when he was born. LOL.
PS: He was born about 5 miles from the hospital in da back seat of a nice 70 Pontiac, think it was a Judge, not sure on that.

Lady friend of mine who's a die hard Harley rider said most Harley people don't consider the VRod to be a Harley.

Judging by the look of it, I can't blame them!

Harley Rider Here and I consider any bike that will go as fast as that one a Harley. Like all three of those Fudgie. But my Lard Arse will not fit on one, won't fit ina Miata or a S2000 Honda either. But the trade off is I can touch the ground sitting on any bike made.
