i posted that i have a "bearing noise or clutch plates" problem previously, if my option is to replace the engine, can a 1997 valkyrie engine be interchanged with a 1998-2001 engine.? i believe it's not the clutch but, the bearing on the output shaft on the transmission. it would be cost effective to just replace the engine.
has anybody out done this?
i might want to try an oil additive before proceeding, as in "purple royal", not sure of the brand here, to quiet that bearing. and not sure what will happen to the clutch plates.

I believe all valkyrie engines are interchangeable.

If you are thinking of an oil additive, I'v heard that the Marvel Mystery Oil works nice for things that this would improve.

I've a GL1100 with starter problems. One claim is it is the chain drive gummed up, and this stuff works on it.

yep, you guys are right. i also called service at the dealer too. all the same.
just for curiosity, i'm going rebuild the slave cylinder due to some scouring by the piston and bad oil seal and add the additive mystery oil or royal purple to the engine oil. but i have my doubts for the noise i'm getting. it may take weeks or months for me to get the time to crack the engine case. who knows, maybe we'll come up something for a six speed while i'm there. experimental of course.
or how about a 1800. i wonder if that'll fit the valkyrie?
