anybody ever used this fuel filter it down to 10 micron  and for the price i got 2 at a local lawn mower shop for 10.00 bucks. i was going to use this filters pass the t going to the carbs so 2 would be needed but there 2 long so i going to use one right up next to the petcock then the dan electric  i wanted to keep the shut off closer to the carbs so no extra fuel is let in the line. this looks like the fuel filter from napa but theres is 20 microm same outlet and intake h,mmmmm

2. this is the link i found for carb float needles man these are only 6.00 they came out of new york but the home office is in canada. i just got my needles in today they look good. i paid 44.00 shipped 6.00 compared to almost 20 from a dealer go figure.

yeah i had the dreaded fuel leak. i cleaned them up once they still flooded so time to replace the needles my bike 150,000 original stock miles never had  the carbs apart till now. was running a pingel vacuum for a few yrs it also got a leak in it. they (pingel) would rebuild to new for 22.00 that paid for the return postage also. not bad but after i cleaned real good it seems to work ok on the vacuum side it shut off air when closed so i hope that means no leak.
now with a 10 micron filter and a electric shut off, even if the pingel is not completly right h,mmmm am i ok. i know about the 6 cyclnder.

3. here's my short cut about moving the bank of carbs the first time was a learning exp. take the tank off. next don't take the air box off i will explain there is one nut that holds the box in place take it off next take both covers off the coke lines and cables. take the 3 cables off one chock 2 for the speed trottle. on the left side take off the coil let it hang towards the rear of the heads there is 3 intake tubes on the left remove them put tape on the holes you will notice that the carb bank is getting loose. now on the right side DO NOT remove the intake tubes no need just loosen the 6 screws that hold on the carbs to the tubes these and the air box will pull off easy with a little twisting now carbs are free. the air box just moved up until the carbs have a space in there the 2 lines on the bottom of the box will just pull off mime did
just take off the 2 one left and right upper motor mounts twist them back out of the way you will be surprised how easy the carbs slide out no need to remove that dreaded heat shield either.

To me this was so easy compared to removing everything this worked this way for me because i already desmog took all that stuff off. i didn't even have to take the cover off the air box to remove the air filter

hopefully only one more post that says all is well or time for another bud . wish me luck coolsmiley

would love to see a pic of the air filter being changed without taking the airbox cover off.
