Those of you that carry openly or concealed, what are your methods of doing so.?

I had thought maybe a shoulder strap, or a tank bib large enough to cary my XD. I just figured it wouldn't be comfortable on the hip for a certain amount of miles. Also I am a little nervous that I would lose it, that would be bad news.

As I always have some type of outer clothing on the top, I carry in a shoulder holster. It takes a little getting used to.  I never thought much of open carry as I prefer the bad guys to get the "big suprise" if I have to use it. Concealed carry also allows you to go about your business without every uninformed citizen calling the PD for "man with a gun".

A Taurus TCP 380 (made in the USA) fits in your right front pocket. It is small enough to carry there and is not expensive.  If you do carry, you must have it readily available.  I couldn't tell you how many times I heard "I never thought it would happen to me, and it happened so quick I didn't know what happpened".  If I have clothes on, I have a gun with me.  If you ever do need to use it, it will only be 2-10 feet away, not like on TV.

It's all good. I have an XDM 9 that carries 19 and 1, which is full size. And a snub nose 357 so all of these comments serve as good information.

I have a left-hand inside the pants style holster sewn inside my left boot. My boots are HD side-zips and have sufficient room there for the holster and my KelTec .380. The holster is the type which was a black plastic pants clip which I hooked over the boot from the inside. Then I played with the position until it was comfortable and sewed it in.

I can walk all day with it there without it dragging my pants down. I carried the .380 that way on a 5000 mile, 11 day ride in 2010 and was just beginning to get a little irritated spot on my leg from the holster when I got home.

If I'm carrying a larger handgun such as a 1911 I use a shoulder holster but plan on buying one of the above mentioned vests.

Its all a myth. No documented notes on proving it true. I have read alot of things on proving it does 'prevent' crime tho.    www.opencarry.com Met a nice VRCC member there.

I'm a pro OC'er and do so 90% (its winter) of the time. Never a hassel. Only time I have been comfronted is when I had a sweat shirt over it.  ???
